backdated entries up, BUT YOU CAN'T READ THEM

Jul 16, 2005 22:38

Brief overview of backdated entries: these are entries that are posted at time Y, but stamped at time X, usually because they were written offline at time X and held in queue until they could be posted at time Y.

If it's been a while since you've read your friends page or my Livejournal, namely since before time X, they'll appear in your friends list as normal and nothing will seem different. But if you'd been reading after time X, you might miss one of them because they'd appear further down in the scroll which you'd already read.

There's no need to get all horribly angsty about any of this. It's been a feature of Livejournal for a long time. Since I figure some people are interested in my trip and I have very limited Internet access, I generally post a notification when I post a bunch of backdated entries in case they might otherwise miss some. I was going to delete the notification posts, but since they're generating amusement, now they get to stay.

To sum up: if you're not seeing anything different, then don't worry about it, it probably means you have a life and aren't checking Livejournal 6 times a day. Also, you don't get to see the pictures of my harem, so just deal.

PS. backdated entries up
