I found out one of my 2 year-old kittens is 22 pounds. Thats obese. Which is sad because we knew he was fat and have tried to get him to lose weight and instead he has gained 6 pounds since last year.
Since I was to see Talladega Nights with Danielle and Chris at 7:20 tonight and I get home from work at 6, I decided to get me some Mexican food for dinner. The best place in town (Qodoba, by where Lancaster's used to be) was ground zero in the hellmouth of people in the middle of filming something. Roads were closed, I had to be stopped while they were filming something ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET and yeah I was pissed off. I found out later that they were actually filming a major motion picture, one starring Queen Latifah! Now no, I didnt see Queen Latifah. BUT I did see Morris Chestnut (check IMDB, I cant get a link up here on LJ) apparently. I didnt know until afterwards that I saw the back of a famous guy's head. So be on the lookout for a Queen Latifah movie about Christmas...because there were xmas decorations around in the scene (yes, in August.). Good ol' Westfield (ha, note the sarcasm) is in it.
And work is giving me one hell of a ride for my last week there:
I woke up at 7 today. That is when I am supposed to leave for work. So it's fair to say I had to pull some moves today. And yeah, on my way out of work to go home I notice that one of my back tires on my rear-drive 2-wheel drive car is deflated close to flat. I infer thats why it has been driving weird when I do 60/70 on the Expressway. Doing it on my way home again confirmed that thought. Parental yelling ensued because there was some magic time that I was supposed to alert my father of this issue, desire to go back to school increased tenfold.
So we had an incident today at the zoo. A man was apparently exposing himself to women and children. Yeah, you see, thats no good. We had to go through all sorts of procedure and escort the man off zoo grounds. Before we actually escorted him there was alot of confusion because "all male keepers" were ordered to go to a certain place, and they RAN, so I was pretty confused about what to do. I was afraid of there being a fight or something like that, which really, I dont get paid enough to get beaten up, thank you. But yeah, no police were involved, we just got him the hell off our grounds. So he probably just walked to the park across the street to continue his flashings. Way to go, zoo. Hey, I dont run it.
Tomorrow New York One's morning show is being broadcast from the zoo! New York One is a channel that New Yawkas get on their cable, a local exclusively-New York thing. Don't worry, it aint Katie Couric (will you be my Katie Couric?) . But still, its working with animals on LIVE tv. So everyone is in a tizzy and today we all planned out what to do and cleaned shit. Im coming in at my usual 8am, so Ill probably miss most of it. I dont desire to see it enough to get there at 6am with the rest of the keepers. But yeah, kind of exciting.
I'm sleepy. Clearly exhausted from this week....and its Tuesday.
BTW, I still need to see Entouage and Flavor of Love.
