Well, I want to punch Sam in the face exactly as much as I expected. I'm so incredibly disappointed in Bobby for going along with it. Not least because keeping Dean in ignorance endangered Lisa and Ben (in addition to just being amazingly self-absorbed in terms of projecting what they want onto what they think Dean wants).
Also, Sam, you're not allowed to get all prickly and refuse to talk about Hell when you've done nothing but badger Dean to tell you *everything* going on in his head for the last 4 seasons.
And I'm already sort of reluctant to read the rest of fandom's reactions, because if I see everyone else who was all ragey about Angel "making Buffy's decisions for her" and forever after hating on him, buying into Sam's noble martyr act, I'm going to scream.
OK, and now I'm going to scream for real -- did Sam seriously just play the "but you're endangering Lisa and Ben by staying with them" card after he's endangered them for the past year not letting Dean know he was back (and Samuel), that major weirdness was up in the supernatural realm? SERIOUSLY????? You want him in, you want him out, make up your fucking mind and stop jerking him around. Jesus fucking Christ, I want to beat him to death all over again. At least he recognizes that he's a self-absorbed fuckhead. Phenomenal flaming hypocrisy, party of one!
. . .aside from that, I am very interested to see what they do with Samuel's return -- and very cool to bring in the remnants of Mary's family. Hi, Jonas! I'm not sure if I can process you being dark and edgy, but I'm willing to give it a shot!
Very nicely done at the beginning, showing us Dean going through his daily routine, but how all these little things still remind him of his former life. Can't run from it, indeed.
Hard to say what I'm hoping for/expecting from this season. I was already having enough problems staying invested in "the love story of Sam and Dean" for the last couple seasons, so I'm mostly in it for Dean...but I'm hoping the arc-story of the season will stay intriguing. So far that's got the possibility for potential.
(Although, it does amuse me to think that they're being so vague with the explanations because the producers went "we got Mitch Pileggi to sign on!" and the writers went ".....f, now we have to come up with a reason.")
