good food, good wine, hectic morning
Got together with celticlullaby last night for the first time in practically forever. Caught her up w/ Angel eps, and introduced her to vids.
I only had one Farscape one to show her, though - can any 'Scapers recommend some more?
Also took the opportunity to go to Fresh Fields and do a little cooking. I miss it so. I think I'll start making a list of light summer recipes to work through - at least one or two a week - for the whole summer. Last night we did a pasta salad - rotelle and chopped roma tomatoes w/ a pesto dressing. There were supposed to be chunks of red onions as well, but I didn't have any, so I put a couple pieces of regular yellow onions in the blender w/ the pesto. I didn't like the recipe I was working off of - it wanted the dressing to have mayo and sour cream in it (on fresh tomatoes and fresh basil? ugh, why bother, then?) - so I just used a bunch of white wine and a lot of shredded parmesan. Tossed in the last of the ricotta as well, just b/c I've been craving it. (side note: Good raisin walnut bread, spread with ricotta, drizzled in honey = yum!) It came out fabulously.
We also sliced up big tomatoes and mozarella for caprese, and I brought home a red zin that was pretty yummy. May have to start picking some of those up more often.
Must schedule time this weekend to work on the remix fic. Too many social engagements! Not least of which is a girls' night of drinks & dinner w/ freedomfry before she leaves us all for the UL again. (Which I keep calling "the Uncharted Location" instead of the "undisclosed location." Farscape < my brain. (By which I mean, "has eaten." Not the mathematical "less than."))
phillyexpat & I attempted to meet up with kdm23 yesterday for lunch, but considering the disaster that PE's passport meeting turned out to be, probably just as well we seemed to miss each other.
Cool LJ thing - they've split up the friends list on the info page into personal journals, communities, and syndicated feeds. Neat.
