I finally have something that I am excited enough about to actually write it down! My sisters and mom have been so very awesome with helping me get healthy and in shape. My sister, Jessica, recieved a free two week pass for Curves, so we started to go in mid january. I recieved another two week pass after only a week of using the first pass so then I had 4 free weeks and then at the end of that time, they allowed us to go another week for free. I was kinda bummed after our free membership ended because I enjoyed going and I know that I need to do something to get healthy but it was so much money to join and the monthly fees. For an early birthday gift, my sister and my mom decided to pay for the monthly fee for me for one year and Curves was running a special where the joining fee was waived. During my free membership, I was working out pretty much every day, except for Saturdays because of work. So I am an official member now, got weighed and measured, and they will weigh and measure me once a month to track my progress. I still plan on going every day, so I am excited about the future!
On top of going to Curves, my sister Tiffany, invited me to start going with her to weight watchers meetings and she is paying for me as well. I have the best sisters! I found out that I was not enough enough food everyday to effect my metabolism, so my body was in starvation mode. I had to start taking in two to three times more food then I was used to, and I am still trying to get used to eating more. My first weigh in after a week of eating correctly, I gained .2 pounds, the next week I lost 3.4 lbs, and this week I lost .8 lbs for a total of 4.2 lbs.
For my 30th birthday will be in 2010 (one year from this month) and I am planning a trip to Chicago with my sisters and mom, so my goal is to lose 60-70 lbs. or even more by this time.
I found out some crazy news the other night. I was watching the 9pm news on channel 3 and they were showing a story about an apartment fire at Dobson and Guadalupe in Mesa, which is where my last apartment was. I had this gut feeling that the fire had started in either my old apartment or in the building that my apatment is in. So I went by there last night after Curves, and it was my old building/apartment! It is a really weird feeling that the place that I lived in for two and a half years is all burned up. I found some news stories about the fire today, they said that the person who lives there had oil in a pan on the stove and the burner was on, then the person went to the store to get a few things and forgot to turn off the burner. When they came back, the apartment was on fire. The fire damaged a total of 8 apartments (4 upstairs were burned and 4 downstairs had water damage) I am going to try to drive by this weekend to see it in the daylight. Last night I was looking at old photos of the apartment and it was so weird to think that the place is all burned and black now, even the outside floor and roof are all black. and what is scary to think about is that the flooring that seperates the bottom apts. from the top is just wood planks, so they must be really week if not burned through.
