Saturday night we went to B+H's Earth Hour party...it was a great night!
It was odd to think that the last time i'd been there for a party, there were a heap of pregnant girls wandering about...this time there was a heap of babies. Oh how the parties, they are a changin'. It was interesting to note a strange phenomena that occurs whenever you get parents of young babies together (aside from the fact that we all talk babies almost constantly). When standing in a group, and even if only one other parent is holding the youngster, and gently rocking them back and forth, the rest of us parents unconcsiously start swaying too...as if on some deep level we sense the need to settle a baby. Must look odd to the non-parents!
At 8.30pm the lights went off and the candles went on...and the cameras came out! As i mentioned, next month's club competition theme is 'Low light" so we all had a bash at it, utilising Beky's candles, assorted torches and willing party guests. I had one of my entries (see my recent post) knocked back for not meeting the criteria (the pic of Kita...evidently the particular light that is lighting the subject must be in the shot..not just a selection of lights that are lighting the scene generally). Anyway, so i thought i'd throw something else in. Andreas was willing, Paul loaned me his wind up torch...and a little photoshop later (to add the blood) i think it's a creepy image!
