It's all about the deadlines

Apparently, I can only get stuff done when I have a hard deadline. Today, I'm all about that.

• I just finished writing documentation for a new feature that I finished coding oh, about 2 months ago. The documentation has been sitting on my to-do list since then. I have to train the feature in about 10 minutes, so I came in this morning and starting writing. I now have 5 pages of docs (well, three really, discounting the TOC and the 2 lines on the last page) in an hour and a half. *g*


• I'm headed to Ikea tonight to pick up some drapes for my living room." Why?" you ask. It looks like my parents are going to be visiting in about three weeks, and I have to get my apartment the rest of the way organized before then. Again, deadlines are my friend. Now, if I could just get the super to clear out a storage locker for me, I'd be all set.

Heh. By the way, the planned meeting between M and my parents didn't happen last weekend - I had suggested it to Mom very last minute, and they had plans that they really couldn't get out of, so we decided to have that meeting next time Dad's in town for a business trip (in about 3 weeks). Mom's coming with him, and we'll all spend the weekend here, in a much less hectic environment. So, now I have a few weeks to fret over it. *sigh*

It'll be okay, though. I had a few conversations with Mom on the weekend that really managed to calm me down about the whole thing, so I don't think I'll be too freaked when they actually get here.
