This is my first effort using Ulead MediaStudio Pro, which I found in the Amazon Marketplace for an insanely low price (it's not the latest version). After struggling with Windows Movie Maker I decided to try something that doesn't crash every five minutes. It's been a novel experience!
This isn't the video I meant to do. I have a Han POV vid that I've been working on for some time, and I've started to redo it in MS. But... it's more complicated, and I thought it was a good idea to get used to the program by first doing something straightforward (not that I find vidding to be straightforward ever). So this is a very simple video that must be seen as a beginner's video (I'm only a beginner anyway) and will be far from perfect.
Luke looks back over the difficulties and challenges of the past few years and considers how good it feels to be alive. The blue skies and calm seas are metaphors not only for the peace he finds within himself, but also for his feelings for Han. Although this is a Luke/Han video, at its heart it's a video about Luke. It's quite slow and a bit long (just over 4 minutes). Originally I was using a shortened version of the song, but in cutting part of it out I had to lose part of Luke's journey, and it didn't seem to work.
I've done three versions of the download - the large version being in both .avi and .wmv formats. I know some people have issues with .avi files. I can play them perfectly on my desktop but my laptop refuses to play anything less than a jerky rendition regardless of what settings/codecs/drivers I use. For some bizarre reason (basically, my own ignorance) I can't make a small .avi version that looks clear, so the small file is .wmv only!
