10 minute update

Apr 21, 2009 08:35

I need to leave for a doctor's appointment in 10 minutes, so I'm stealing the time to write this very brief entry.

Had a nice, quiet weekend. I did nothing on Friday night and it was exactly what I needed. I ended up sleeping for ten hours straight. Bliss! I'd planned to go into work for a few hours on Saturday, but after I spent a few hours awake on Saturday morning, I fell asleep on my couch for another two. I took that as a sign that my body needed rest and that it might be best for me to stay home. To be honest, I don't even really remember what I did all day. I think I watched too much TV, and I rememeber having a long telephone conversation with Kathy. That's about it. I think I just unplugged from worrying about stuff.

Sunday morning I dragged myself into work for a few hours to catch up and get ready for this week.  It's so nice to be able to tackle the piles on your desk without more work being added to the pile. Also, it's nice and quiet at the office on Sunday, and I really appreciate that.  After working, I headed to my parent's place where my dad helped me replace a broken windshield wiper, and after that I went out for a very early dinner with Kathy and Janelle. We talked and talked and it felt like old times before work volumes and school and other worthwhile commitments started making it hard to see each other. I felt well enough when I got home that I had the energy to give my bathroom a deep dive clean. It's weird how accomplished I feel after I scrub the bathroom from stem to stern.

My cold is still clinging to me, and I'm not sleeping as well as I'd like. I'm waking up far too often because I can't breathe through my nose. Also? Green stuff. So, I felt like it was time to go see the doctor. I'd like my nose back, and I'd like my sinuses to stop hurting. So, I'm hoping some antibiotics are on the menu. We'll see.

My ten minutes are up. Hope you all have a great Tuesday, and I'm going to hope that my inbox at work doesn't resemble Mount McKinley when I get there. :)
