Work, work, work, sandwiches

Work has been a mad house lately. It's been so busy that at lunch I don't even want to think about forming complete sentences, and by the time I arrive home I'm a slack-jawed brain-pudding version of myself that isn't capable of forming complete sentences.  I was so tired a few times this week that I couldn't even bring myself to heat something up, I had hummus on pita chips and fruit for dinner.  It's not what I would prefer, but it is what it is.  What can you do?

Well, you can go into work on a Sunday just to keep up.  So, yeah, as soon as I finish typing this, I'm grabbing some breakfast, getting dressed and then heading into work for a few hours. It's supposed to snow 2-4 inches today, so I'm hoping to beat the worst of the weather by going in this morning rather than this afternoon.

Other update-y type things from this week:

- Saw Sunshine Cleaning (starring Amy Adams and Emily Blunt) on Friday night with Kathy, Janelle, and my mom on Friday night. Good movie, quirky and funny and touching all at the same time

- Chloe continues to do well. Right now she is sleeping very adorably on my ottoman dreaming cat-like things.

- Had a birthday lunch for Jeff's Brother-in-law, Nelson, yesterday. Nels got a Wii for his birthday, and my right arm is a bit sore from playing Wii bowling and Wii tennis for several hours yesterday. I also did my best to help Jeff watch the twins while their parents went to a wedding shower in the evening. The kids are getting so big! They're eating actual baby food now in addition to their bottles. How did that happen? :)

- Mental note to myself: I still need to read Tracy's thoughts on Kara's journey to the BSG finale.

- Oh, and one more thing. On my vacation I read Nalini Singh's Angel's Blood. It's the first book in her new Guild Hunter Series. I love her Psy-Changling series, but was a bit dubious about this one. I mean, did we really need more vampires? But because I trust the author, I bought it anyway, and I LOVED it. I loved it so much that I read it twice during my vacation. Nalini manages to do what I thought couldn't be done - she puts another interesting twist on the vampire story. And really, this book isn't so much about vampires as it is about angels. Angels that live among the humans of this world, but remain very much a mystery to that world. It was very enjoyable and I very much recommend it if you're in the mood for a paranormal romance.

And that's about it. Time to stop avoiding the inevitable. Hope you all have a much more peaceful Sunday.
