Much ado about nothing

I’ve had lots of little things flitting across my mind the past few days, and since I don’t have a great blog topic in mind, I’m just going to share them here.
 

1. Reality TV wrap-up: I don’t know how, but I found myself watching Dancing With the Stars, The Bachelor, AND American Idol this spring. All three wrapped up their runs this week:
   DWtS -- I’m jazzed Apolo and Julianne won. The girls (my best friends) and I have been trying to figure out if the rumors of them dating are true. Their chemistry on the dance floor certainly does nothing to quell those thoughts. 
   The Bachelor --   I’m usually parked in the camp of one girl over the other, since usually one is the “gorgeous temptress” and the other is the “nice girl”. This time, I actually liked both of the women in the final two, though I did like Tessa a bit more. In the end, Andy picked Tessa and I think he made the right choice.
   American Idol - Jordin was a better singer than Blake, so I’m glad she won. I think she’ll be much more suited to the career of a singing diva than Blake. Blake has some interesting potential, though. I think he’ll need the right team working with him to pick the best songs and arrangements for his voice and talents. I wish them all (including Melinda Doolittle) luck.
2. I’m still craving cupcakes. I conjured up an elaborate daydream yesterday involving opening a bookstore/munchies/cupcake mecca in a well-trafficked area. Behold the treasures here. Don’t they look amazing?? I think I may make some cupcakes for the cookout that’s being planned for Sunday.
3. I’ve joined a new LJ community. It’s dedicated to the (un?)fortunate souls that desperately want Apollo and Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica to be together. There’s been some interesting discussion so far, so I’m glad I joined.
4. Speaking of Battlestar, I’m ready for season three to be released on DVD. Seriously. Ready now. *taps fingers impatiently on the desk*
5. Thanks to the evil influence of many people, including Annie, I started watching Lost a few weeks ago. I’ve known just enough about the show to semi-understand what’s happening, but this year’s season finale hooked me. I think I’ll be using my Netflix queue to catch up before season 4 begins (in 200-freaking-8!! *whines*)
6. Tomorrow night, I’m going to see Pirates 3. I’m excited! :)
7. Speaking of movies, I need to compile a list of the films I plan to see this summer. It’s going to be an expensive season, but I don’t really mind.
8. Mother Nature has opened the skies again in honor of the three-day weekend. Pfffffft! At this rate, I’m never going to get my car to the car wash for a massive cleaning. I’m counting on it being dry Sunday.
9. I finished reading PC + Kristin Cast’s Marked last night. It was good stuff, and I’ll write up my thoughts soon. Right now, I’m finishing Karma Girl by Jennifer Estep.
10. Is it time to go home yet? Sigh.
