a history of Carthian's life
Carthian was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1600. His father was a farmer, and his mother was a servant in the dukes summer house. When he was sixteen he was allowed to study with the kings two sons and the duke's daughter. Eventually he fell in love with her and begged the duke for her hand and won it under the condition that she give up everything she owned. Two years later they had a son, however his beloved wife died shortly after of fever. Carthian was struck by more misfortune. The child had pure white skin and hair, and blood red eyes. He was hated by the rest of the town and was called the "devil's child". When he was sixteen he was murdered and carthian run out of town. Left with only a ring and a locket, Carthian began to wander, eventually meeting up with a man named Richard Hartsmith in france. The two men soon found that they had a lot in common and became close friends. in 1645, Richard told him of a cave he'd descovered several years later that had a rich gold vein. carthian agreed to help the man mine the gold, in return he would be allowed to keep all that he could carry. however he was tricked and murdered, after which he was cursed by the spirit of Richards first victim. he was told that in order to die he must first kill Richard, however he escaped and now Carthian is forced to wander the earth until the end of time.
