I had a couple problems with the movie, which seemed to make a cooperative effort on derailing my overall enjoyment of the film.
[WARNING!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!! I'm not going to bother being vague for any unlucky unviewers. I'm just going to say everything as is.]
First, yeah, there was Tseng. And I do remember the exact moment when he was left for dead. Though, true enough, he was only stabbed through the gut, I guess it's possible he could have survived. They never explained how he escaped the Temple before it collapsed, though. That kind of made me sad.
Second, there was Rufus. While it's possible that I could have been mistaken about Tseng, I am pretty damn sure I saw Diamond Weapon blast Rufus and his high-and-mighty Shinra office to smithereens. His end was much more definitive, much more obvious, and much less 'oh yeah, he can walk away from that, no problem.' Tseng could get away without an explanation for why he still lived. Rufus, however, plays a major role in the movie. His revival was never explained. This disappoints me

For kill bill -- I realize it's a play off of that style. But that doesn't mean I paticularly care for that style. You'll note I had a disappointment about the lack of character development in the first one (at least, as far as I can tell, that's why I didn't care for the first one much).
and I'd have to play 7 through again before I'm going to bother trying to debate with you about the movie ^_^
Did you catch the 'battle end' music that was the cell phone ring after Tifa's fight in the church? *giggles* I just about DIED.
Dude, I didn't even finish playing the game through ONCE and I remembered who Zak was. How could you forget Zak, he's a major plot point! (Though I did watch Cnd play all the way through it, so I suppose that counts)
The voice acting was... GUH. @_@ SO many of my favourite seiyuu in that movie. And I correctly identified almost all of the ones I knew. *grins* I wish Tseng had been in it more... *sniffles* He was played by one of my all-time favourites, but he only had like two lines.
Oh, also, about Kill Bill... did you know Midorikawa Hikaru is in it? He played Zelgadis in Slayers, among other things. I just about flipped out when I saw his name in the credits... especially when I realized WHO he was playing.
He did the voice for the assassin that killed O-ren's family. Which means he didn't actually have any lines, just grunted. *facepalms* No wonder I didn't recognize the voice. Why pay someone like HIM for a role THAT tiny?
Yes, I loved the cell-phone ring. At first, I thought it was kinda cheesy (although Tifa and Marlene looking around for the sound made it seem like they were uncertain about it). Then when we found out it was the cell phone, it just rocked ^_^
No, I didn't know Midorikawa Hikaru was in it -- it's been so long since I payed much attention to seiyuu's names that even if I saw the name, I doubt I would have recognized it. The only name I really recognize off hand is Megumi Hayashibara (assuming I spelled it correctly).
But yes, it is amusing that they'd hire him (who is a well established voice actor) to just do some grunting ^_^
