It was one of the zero-lot lines that we liked ... and two of the ones we went to see were just for demonstration of what kinds of houses & space they have, as they were already conditionally sold.
As it was, we saw the house that we ended up buying on a Monday (I think), and we wanted to take a 2nd look at it (without the inhabitants in the house), so we scheduled a 2nd look for Sunday. Then on Thursday we got word that someone else was putting in a bid, so Friday we went out during lunch and looked at it again and decided to put a bid of our own in as well.
My offer was originally $100 over the asking price (as we were competing, and we liked it), and then for $10,000 less after the home inspection. The guy probably didn't like that, but oh well ^_^
The haggling was kind of fun ... taking into consideration what I feel is fair & affordable, and knowing bits of information about the other family's personalities.
