I'd like for the Harry Potter writers to READ THE DAMN BOOKS.
When I keep reading and reading that Dumbledore is a bad person because he doesn't care about poor Harry, because he used him as a soldier, because he kept information about him, blah blah blah... it makes me cringe and push on the back button real fast.
No, Dumbledore isn't an uncaring bastard. He cares about Harry, way too much by the way (yes, it's written, he says he doesn't consider Harry like all of his other pupils, but as something more like a grandson). He didn't keep information from Harry to purposefully hurt him, but to protect him. He is OVERPROTECTIVE. I don't hear you all ranting about the unfairness of it all when Mrs Weasley is being overprotective of her children or Harry, do I ? Even if in the end, her being like that is detrimental to them ?
And if you had a higher IQ than 2, dear writer, you would also consider the fact that it would be pretty hypocritical for Harry to hold a grudge against Dumbledore for that, as he pretty much does the same all the time (hello, does, "No, Ginny, you can't come with us to the ministry because it's too dangerous, and in fact nobody should come with me either" ring any bell ?)
And no, Harry doesn't hate Dumbledore. He is simply angry and needs to vent some. Harry was mistreated for his entire life and still doesn't hate the Dursleys. Harry isn't YOU. He doesn't have it in him to truly hate someone (see the failed cruciatus on Bellatrix). Well, I'll be generous and grant you this one, it wasn't very obvious at the end of volume 5 what Harry would become. But Rowling decided to surprise us all by maturing him much. But it is only a surprise if you can't consider the fact that the death of a close person would have helped him mature. Anyway, fics written AFTER book 6 was out and still talk about 'Harry being only a soldier to uncaring Dumbledore, woe Harry' are stupid.
