SGC, Colorado Springs, Saturday Afternoon

Mar 28, 2009 13:34

Sam had missed many things about the SGC. The adventure, her friends, knowing that she was working on technology that was light-years ahead of anything on the planet, working to save humanity from threats they didn't know existed...so many things.

What it turned out she hadn't missed were briefings. Long, boring briefings about her intended destination and the purpose of their exploration. Conducted by some hopeful young apprentice of Daniel Jackson's who was trying to impress them all with her extensive archaic knowledge.

Oy.

She also hadn't missed lockdowns. Stupid alien contagions. Since there was nothing she could do, the gym was full and Lieutenant Colonel Carter was hogging all the lab equipment, Sam made her way to the mess. A quick glance showed here that the food certainly hadn't changed since she'd left, but at least there was still coffee.

Sam grabbed a cup and looked for a place to sit.
