Sam and Cameron's Place, Boulder, Colorado
Sam didn't know how she was going to break the news to Cameron that she was leaving him alone in Colorado and heading back to Fandom to teach physics, but she'd gotten a letter making it official now, so he had to be told. She didn't want him to find her packing, or to just wake up and find her gone one morning. The fact that she hadn't told him she'd applied to teach would probably also be an issue.
Sighing, she brushed her hair out of her eyes and retreated to her lab to make lists of things that had to be done before she left. Not that she thought of it as a retreat, of course. Carters didn't retreat unless they were taking heavy fire.
She wondered if having to look into Cameron's eyes would count.
