People hiding, silently crying
Those bouncing around, masking their desperation
Needing something, needing something
Everyone feels alone
Is anyone happy?
Not much for one to do
For a world so big, moving so fast
Should we sit back and hope a greater force moves us
Puts us back to happy, cures us of our empty lives
Fix us deep, no need for our temporary bandaides
Or do we all have an impact
As if we're connected by strings
Every person to every object
To every emotion to every ideal
To every feeling, to every breath
One motion moving another
Every tug, a pull
Every word, a new idea
Every smile, a sigh of relief
Every broken dream, a fresh start
Could one make a difference
One person helping another
Another person, another person
Small contributions, lives renewed
Perceptions shifted, concepts rearranged
I will fight the monster of apathy
Of depression, of fear
Of helplessness, of insecurity
Of shattered hopes, of unsure identity
Of overwhelming emotions, of underestimated souls
I will change the world
Minuscule means to the majority it will seem
To the helped a new idea, life, dream, hope
Big changes are far and few in between
Difficult to reach, easy to see
Glamorized and overblown
There one minute, gone the next
Small improvements
Shape the world, one at a time
Making things better
Not quick, not large-scale
But the best I can do, for now
So for now, I fight for them

Life we no longer know
