a visit to the vet
earlier last night, i was showing the chins to a prospective buyer, when i noticed the little black one looked like he was missing an eye. i couldn't really tell much, except there was fur covering most of it, and there was a hard lump where the eye was.
so of course, i took a trip to the vet today and see if i could get some answers, and hopefully save his sight in the eye if there was indeed an eye left. after waiting about 3 hours and 30 minutes i finally got to see the vet.
luckily, he told me that the eye was still intact, but it looks like one of his sisters had scratched his eye, and it had gotten infected. he said he should have a full recovery, but im supposed to administer a prescribed ointment to his eye every eight hours, and wash his eye with a simple saline solution if it looks like the eye is getting encrusted. it only set me back around $80.00, plus well ~ another $50 when i go back for a follow up on monday. good thing they sell for a decent amount of money or i'd be hurting.
but hopefully he really will make a full recovery and all will be well :-)
