Happy Birthday to...

...J. M. Barrie! Yes, if he was still alive today he would be 147 years old. Which makes Peter Pan 103 years young!

I mention all this because I just turned 38 myself today - and only just found out that Shelly's Folly couldn't have been planned any better. I was born on the same day as the man who gave birth to one of my all time favorite stories. My imagination was first set fire by this writer. How could I NOT know we shared a birthday?

It's a strange sort of irony, I think. One that I shall have to think upon. While coincidences have often been mislabeled as ironies ("Ironic" by Alanis being one of the most public examples - still love her, tho), here's an actual irony that's very coincidental.

Maybe it's fate? Was my destiny already being hinted at my birth? Is there a reason why I never knew, yet somehow knew all the time? And now that I know, does this mean it's finally time to take that first step, and start putting the fantasies in my head to paper, to share with anyone who cares to read them?

Is this the inspiration I've been waiting all my life for?

Yes, I believe it is. I believe it's time...
