“Artificial”
The definition of artificial is “Made by humans; produced rather than natural” as stated by Dictionary.com. This definition however has multiple meanings. With the word it self pertaining to a variety of objects in our world what does artificial mean to you?
To most people the idea of artificial is fake. And in our society today fake is huge. We have fake legs, arms, breast’s, we now even have artificial faces. All of these artificial objects are called prosthetic for the most part but only have to do with the human body. Doctors are good with use of artificial objects for medicinal purposes that do help people. Doctors also do use artificial things to inject into and or replace body parts. These things are put in place for a price to look young. You can buy a lot for your body to make your self look young again that are artificial. Along with body parts a really controversial issue dealing with artificial things is cloning. Cloning is an act of making a human being through natural process in an artificial state.
A big practice with artificial is A.I. or artificial intelligence. With computers advancing and many machines becoming smarter the ability the posses is only limited by how much scientists produce. Since many people are against giving machines the ability to think about what its doing this is another artificial breakthrough. It seems that with wages and the work force in the United States machines could replace humans at a lower cost. In order for that to happen they had to develop better artificial intelligence. Now the majority of labor forced factories are made up by computer driven machines. The automotive industry has been the biggest force to adapt to the machine based labor force.
Many things we eat and use on a daily basis are artificial. Many of the cleaners used in our homes are artificial. Things like dial soap aren’t natural to our environment yet we use it. We also have been eating genetically processed foods. This was done in an artificial manor. The use of artificial growth enhancers has created a stir within the farming community.
Artificial is a word that will forever be in our vocabulary because it is a changing word. By that it is a word that like its meaning it is a word that will change when humans create new things.
