Stop me if you think you've heard this one..
I figured that it would be appropriate to do an end of the year entry. But every good experience that happened this year could take pages to describe. 2002 was amazing. And seriously, fuck the haters. You make your own years, you choose how it's going to be. I decided one year ago today that this year was going to be the best of my life. And it was.
+ new friends, closer friends, better friends
+ discovering how much i love literature
+ being in love with life, and everything and everyone
+ graduating
+ growing up
+ summer fun
+ first kiss
+ latvija
+ starting school
+ getting my shit together
et cetera, et cetera, et cetera
Last night was gorgeous. I spent most of the afternoon making piragi, in accordance to some Latvijan tradition that must exist somewhere. Then headed to Brandon's. Then Pepe and i rushed down to the waterfront hoping to see some fireworks, but unfortunately we were late and ended up having our count down in the car. We then quickly ran down to the beach and opened a bottle of cider. But the fireworks were few, and it was freezing, so we headed back to Brandon's. There we hung out with Brandon, Zach and Bryn and laughed hysterically at everything. Then did the same at Sharis, around 4-5am. And we were laughing so hard that Zach barfed in the bushes! Then Bryn, Pepe and myself headed back down to the waterfront to search for Pepe's scarf, and it was there! As Bryn said, it was a truly magical moment. I think us being crazy tired had something to do with it, though. But that was a lovely ending to the evening.
