[Ken has left this late. Late because he doesn't really know Sena; and late because the temptation to scream your mother is an evil bitch needed time to fade. Though Sena's mother clearly is, by Ken's standards, absolutely irredeemably fucked up, he knows damn well that moms, even evil ones, can be a very touchy area.
[So he waited. Now he's calmed down enough to open this in a relatively normal manner, instead of demanding Sena tell him where his mother's gotten to so that he can kick her ass.]
Hey, I know we don't know each other and all that shit but are you all right?
[Sena was hardly expecting another call--from Ken of all people--asking if he was alright.
...it's kind of nice. Being able to talk to him without worrying about getting yelled at. Or punched. It's a source of tension Sena didn't really notice until its lack.]
[Ken isn't sure. he isn't sure at all. But he'll respect Sena's right to lie about something like this if it makes him feel better. The next thing he says, though, leaves him startled.]
[He hesitates for a moment, as if he's trying to work out what to say next. Most likely he is. Ken's never been great with words, and at times like this words are all he's got.]
I know it's kinda sudden but is there anything I can do?
Should it have done? Some things just... don't. Sure you can try and make them make sense but sometimes it just don't work and that's all there is to it. I know I didn't get it when-- well. A whole bunch of my shit doesn't make any sense to me either.
[Ken frowns slightly, looking thoughtfully at the dreamberry for a second.]
Hey, it's no big. Why'd you think I'd get offended at that?
[Weird that the kid's seeming so... so essentially uncomfortable round him, though. They're teammates, right? And sure he's got a short temper, but - come on, not wanting to talk to a stranger? That's not exactly unreasonable, right?]
Like I said, just do what you have to. It was just a suggestion, I'm not gonna bite your head off because you don't think it'd help.
[Really? Ken can't think why he wouldn't have got on with this kid and wonders what on Earth his future self's deal is that he somehow didn't. He frowns, baffled not by Sena but by a decision he hasn't made yet he simply can't see the reasoning behind. This just doesn't make sense.]
I...wasn't the easiest to deal with, when you actually met me, I guess...
[that and you were pissed off 'cause Persia decided not to punish me for indirectly causing the death of one of our teammates and ah WE WON'T GO THERE.]

...yeah. Kinda.
[okay, not so much. But he can pretend.]
...it wasn't her fault.

What happened?

[Sena sighs, runs a hand through his hair, looks away from the dreamberry's screen.]
It wasn't her.

[...yeah, he knows he's not making sense, but he's always been one to get an idea in his fluffy little head and hang onto it.]

I know that didn't make any sense. Sorry.
...no, I just...need to find something to do. Thanks, though.

[He smiles a little awkwardly.]
Well, do what you have to.

...yeah, I guess we all have to. I just...don't want to try going back to sleep right now. Or for a while.

[He knows that feeling. Every time Ken closes his eyes lately-- well. He's not keen on revisiting it.]
You wanna talk at all? No big if you'd rather not.

...no offense or anything, but...I really don't wouldn't know what to say. I...didn't know you too well. Back home, I mean.

...Sorry. We just...didn't get along too well, I guess.

Why not? You don't seem so bad to me.
