Romantic sigh for Chen Xi

WOW.  I just finished my 3rd concert in a 3-day span.  This one was a little chamber music gig, but the last two...WOOF!  I played two SCO concerts last weekend (1 of which the 'rents and Matt came to).  They were the best concerts I've played at Willamette!  Chen Xi, 22-year-old Chinese violinist extraordinaire, was the soloist (did I mention that he's MY AGE???) and played the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D.  I got to play principal, as a graduation gift from Molly and Dr. Wu.  Yay!  The solo passages were so beautiful, and there was a good deal of interplay between my part and the soloist.  When Xi looked at me, I felt my blood catch fire!  It was so gorgeous.  There are such big romantic moments in that piece....sigh.  Also, we played Beethoven's Eroica Symphony, and Molly was principal.  Her solos are so effortless!  Wow.  I felt a little sad after the concert on Sunday, but we promptly went out to dinner at La Hacienda Real with Matt and Shannon and Paul (who are ENGAGED now!!!), so I felt much better.

I've been swamped with work this week, and so I'm off to do my Human Phys research paper and presentation.  I'll get a head start on it before Shannon Levin gets here to work on it with me.  Toodleoo-
