I feel like such a dolt. Thanks to a comment made by a friend last night at a baby shower I JUST realized that Graham's lisp is due to his tongue-tie. I totally forgot that he was tongue-tied at all, but the doctor noticed when he was born and it hasn't gradually gotten better. He has a hard time not drooling sometimes and can't say a lot of words properly. I've been waiting this entire time for him to grow out of it. Now I may have to look into speech therapy as I do not want him to be teased for a lisp. Perhaps it will go away on its own or I may be able to train him out of it.
I feel so ignorant. At least I thought of it now; he has an appointment on Wednesday to be referred to a specialist for a frenectomy. My poor little guy!
