A Megaloceras bugles in the winter night...

I got lucky last week during the snow. I was either off or had in-service several days after it hit. I must say, being stuck at home with nowhere to go on a cold, snowy day... i thought of past snows as a kid. It was nice. Been awhile since i could say that about a snow. Kristy was off work that whole week too. We watched movies, the price is right, played Uno by candlelight. Fixed my step daughters busted water pipes 3 times. We did nothing. We did everything. It was as close to pure magic as you can get. I loved it.

Went to Kingsport for mom's birthday today. It was the 24th but we went the 25th. She is 70 now. That seems crazy. But me being 41 seems crazy too. We ate at Longhorn, had a great time. Ageing and time has to be the single most mind numbing and colossal things out there. When you're a child a year seems like forever. When you're older, 20 years arrives at your door and you're like, "what the bloody hell", that seems like yesterday. Soon you find yourself 41 and both parents 70 and middle school seems like this morning... drives the poets mad it does.

Dad is back into painting. Im glad, hes retired now and has the time. Everything's been good. I cant complain. I dont mean to be over the top dramatic or anything, but life itself is so up and down, eclectic, varied and ever constantly changing... really, what more could you ask for? Grab it by the balls and yank!
