Background:

Before the events of Tales of Symphonia, Sheena was abandoned by her parents in Gaoracchia Forest for unknown reasons. Fortunately, the Chief of Mizuho found the baby and immediately adopted her as a granddaughter and a potential chief-to-be. She was taken in by the village, trained to become a ninja and, after her summoning ability was discovered, trained as a summoner as well. For several years, Sheena lived in happiness, proud of her abilities and confident in herself. That all changed when she, at the age of seven, attempted to make a summoning pact with the summon spirit Volt. The spirit, in order to test her abilities as a summoner, attacked Sheena and the villagers who had accompanied her. Sheena was unable to defend herself, and the rest of the villagers with her died from the assault. The Chief, who had also been in the party, protected the young girl, only to fall into a coma due to injuries sustained from fighting Volt. Sheena was left traumatized and ostracized for failing to make the pact.

Several years passed with Sheena falling deeper and deeper into depressions, until one day, a mission called her out to Meltokio's Elemental Research Laboratory, where she met the man-made summon spirit Corrine. They formed a pact on the grounds that Sheena would help Corrine escape the labs and never force her into testing again and suddenly, Sheena was no longer alone; from that day on, Corrine and Sheena were the closest friends. Together, they became a powerful team, and were often called upon by the Church of Martel and the Royal Family of Tethe'alla to complete various assignments, including escort missions for the Chosen of Tethe'alla, one Zelos Wilder.

Everything changed around the time when Sheena was nineteen. Thanks to information from the Renegades, Tethe'alla was made aware of a world parallel to it, known as Sylvarant. They also let it slip that the two worlds competed for a limited supply of mana, which was not only the source of life, but also allowed the world to flourish in all fashions (technology, crops, culture, etc). However, when a Chosen One regenerated the world, they reversed the flow of mana, allowing the world that was declining to flourish and the flourishing world to decline. So how did a world ensure that it remained flourishing and healthy? Simple, prevent a Chosen from completing the World Regeneration quest, via kidnapping, intimidation, or assassination. And so, Sheena was selected to travel to another world and kill the Chosen of Sylvarant. Initially, the ninja believed herself perfectly capable of doing so, as it would allow her to protect everyone in Tethe'alla. Things turned out much differently.

After traveling to the world of Sylvarant with the aid of the Renegades, Sheena began to gather information on the Chosen of Sylvarant's movement. After narrowing down possible locations, she managed to find the Chosen and the Chosen's party in the Ossa Trail. There, after identifying the Chosen as a young blonde, Sheena attacked, only to fall victim to what later became known as the Chosen's divine clumsiness; the Chosen tripped and managed to hit a lever that controlled a maintenance shaft cover that Sheena was standing on, sending the poor ninja tumbling head over heels down into the mines below. She never really recovered from that. Either way, Sheena managed to attack the party again at the end of the trail, though she was successfully chased off. Despite this, her certainty in her mission was shaken; the Chosen was an innocent child who worried about everyone, including people trying to kill her. However, after reminding herself what was at stake (the fate of her homeworld), Sheena continued to pursue her mission.

Thus began an odd relationship between Sheena and the Chosen's group. Over the journey, they managed to accidentally run into each other multiple times at a House of Salvation (where Sheena learned that the Chosen was named Colette and one of her companions was named Lloyd) and in the village of Luin (where Lloyd found Sheena playing hide-and-go-seek with the local children [and he also declared her to be a kind person]). Sheena attempted to ambush the group at Thoda Geyser, but was prevented from doing so (by a certain green and white "dog"), though she later managed to attack them at the Balacruf Mausoleum (after becoming flustered by Colette's attempts at friendship). There, after being defeated, Sheena gets into an argument with the Regeneration group regarding who's in the right.

...
Sheena: "Goodness"?! What do you mean, "goodness"?! If you're good, I'm good as well!
...
Sheena: What do you know?! If you regenerate the world, my country with be destroyed! I won't let that happen, I swear!
Colette: Wait. What do you mean? If I regenerate the world, everyone will be saved... right?
Sheena: ... This world will be saved!

Sheena then flees, leaving the Regeneration group with more questions than answers. She makes her way to Luin again, presumably to wait for the group and ambush them once again, but before that can happen, the Desians attack Luin for hiding several people who somehow managed to escape the human ranch nearby. They forced everyone in the village to the ranch and completely destroyed Luin; Sheena attempted to defend the village but, outnumbered, was unable to do so and was injured badly. She's left to die in the village until the Colette's group finds her and, to her surprise, Lloyd and Colette beg their teacher to heal her. Sheena explains the situation and, out of need to help the villagers, asks to join their group. They agree and head to the human ranch; they managed to infiltrate it by having Raine and Sheena pose as guards. Unfortunately, the group is caught and, fleeing, they come across the horrifying truth behind human ranches and Ex-spheres (spheres that, when equipped, multiply the user's abilities).

Ex-spheres are parasitic things that, when equipped without a Key Crest, drain the host's life to grow, evolve, and activate. Apparently, fear and torture makes the process faster, hence the reason for human ranches. When the Ex-sphere is removed from the host, the host's mana (energy) goes out of control, warping it into a monster that is killed. In other words, human ranches are slaughter houses that produce Ex-spheres by killing off captured humans. All of this is told to them by the ranch head, Kvar. Sheena manages to pull off an escape with the others, and they head back to Luin's remains to regroup. At an impasse, the group questions what to do with the Ex-spheres, if they should continue to use them or if doing so would make a mockery out of life. They eventually decide to keep the Ex-spheres, since they are made of countless lives and to destroy them would ultimately cripple their goal of stopping the Desians once and for all.

Anyways, after some back tracking, the group finds one of the prisoners who escaped from the human ranch and, after promising to find a way to heal him, are told about a secret passage into the ranch. They infiltrate it again and, once again, are discovered. To save time, they split into two groups, one that frees the prisoners and one that faces Kvar; Sheena is sent with the group that frees the prisoners. Eventually, her group catches up with Lloyd in the control room in time to see Kvar grievously injure Colette and attempt to escape. Furious, Sheena cuts off his retreat, allowing Lloyd and Kratos to kill the half-elf. After he's killed, Lloyd, distressed with Colette's condition, reveals that the Chosen can no longer eat, sleep, feel, or even cry.

Sheena is soon caught between emotions; on one hand, she's come to like Colette as a friend, and doesn't want her to suffer, but on the other hand, she has a duty to Tethe'alla. Sheena continues to grapple with this issue as the Regeneration group (plus Sheena) travel to find the key to the Tower of Mana, release the seal housed there, briefly meet Luna, unlock the path to the Tower of Regeneration, and watch helplessly as Colette finally loses her ability to speak.

That night, Sheena decides to come clean to everyone, and discovers that Raine already suspected Sheena wasn't from Sylvarant. Sheena confirms this, and explains everything she knows about the two worlds, how they compete for mana, and what her mission is. She also clarifies her indecisiveness, how she wants everyone in Sylvarant, Tethe'alla, and Colette herself to be happy. Lloyd is also curious about the answer to that question, but the older members of the group quickly shoot down their hopes. Either way, the only thing currently possible is to go forward with the journey and buy Sylvarant more time. Sheena and Lloyd remain unsatisfied with this answer, despite Colette's insistence that everything is fine.

The following day, the group is sidetracked with the mission of finding a unicorn horn in order to heal Pietro, the prisoner who told them about the secret passage into the human ranch. They end up passing through Lake Umacy, where, lo and behold, there lays a unicorn beneath the water. However, the maidens of the group (Colette and Sheena) have no way to approach it, and the situation seems hopeless until Sheena hesitantly suggests forming a pact with the summon spirit of water, Undine, who could carry them to the unicorn. When questioned further, she also reveals that she did train in the summoning arts, though she hasn't made an actual pact with any summon spirits (Corrine aside). With a new goal, the group troops back to the seal at Thoda Geyser, Sheena still hesitant over her ability to make pacts.

Undine appears before the Regeneration group at Thoda Geyser, but declares herself unable to form a pact as long as she holds a pact with Mithos. Following a short discussion, Sheena asks Undine to annul the pact with Mithos and form a new one with her. Undine accepts, on the condition that she tests Sheena's worthiness as a pact maker before forming the actual pact. With everyone's help, Sheena is able to defeat Undine and form a pact with her, on the basis that Sheena attempts to save the people who are suffering in the world. With the summon spirit of water on their side, it becomes simple to approach the unicorn who, after calling Colette Martel and telling her she had the same sickness, gives them its horn. Unicorn horn in hand, Raine easily heals Pietro of his illness, leaving the group with no other distractions; the world is to be regenerated after a night of rest.

Things turn out much differently; at the Tower of Salvation, the group discovers that Colette must die in order to regenerate the world. They also discover that Kratos is a part of Cruxis, the religious organization that controls the world, and that the Journey of Regeneration is, more or less, a sham. They attempt to battle Yggdrassil, the leader of Cruxis, and are nearly killed for their efforts, but are saved at the last second by the Renegades. Of course, it turns out that the Renegades have their own agenda and, desperate for safety and a way to cure Colette, Sheena offers to take the others to her home world of Tethe'alla. They accept, and travel there through the use of machines called Rheairds.

For a short time, Sheena is forced to leave the group; she has to report to her Chief regarding the failure of her mission to kill Colette. She leaves them with a letter to give to the King, its contents explaining the entire situation. Sheena heads back to Mizuho, where she reports to Tiga, the Vice-Chief and current acting Chief. After listening to her story, Tiga, curious about these people who would willingly go against the world, orders Sheena to continue traveling with Lloyd's group and keep an eye on their activities. Sheena travels back towards Meltokio, only to receive word that not only have Lloyd and several others been imprisoned in the research city of Sybak, but that Raine and Genis were being escorted back to Meltokio for execution. Frantic, she infiltrates the area the others were being detained at, freeing them before joining them to rescue the Sage siblings. They barely managed to make it across the Grand Tethe'allan Bridge thanks to Sheena's summoning of Undine at a key moment and confront the Papal Knights, the armed force that served the Church of Martel. The group defeats the Knights and frees Raine and Genis, when they are forced to admit their opinions on half-elves, but all agree that, regardless of blood, Raine and Genis were friends.

The group moves on, gaining several party members (Regal and Presea), running from the authorities, and in general acting the parts of fugitives. During this time, Sheena leads the group to her home village of Mizuho, where the ninja clan agrees to aid their quest. Tiga points out that Sheena will eventually need to make a pact with the Summon Spirit Volt, something Sheena is terrified of, but refuses to explain why. Eventually, the truth comes out; that Sheena once attempted a pact, but failed. Slightly emboldened by her companions encouragements, she returns to the Temple of Lightning to try again.

As the group solves the puzzles, Sheena becomes more and more worried despite repeated attempts at cheering up from Corrine and the others. Finally, they stand before the seal where Volt resides. Once again, he approaches them, and once again, Sheena is unable to understand him. Thankfully, Raine manages to translate Volts words, only to discover that not only did Volt hold a pact with Mithos, but the pact is broken, and the spirit no refuses to make any pacts. Desperate, Sheena protests and draws her cards, inciting Volt into attacking. Lightning blasts the group away, apparently just like before and Sheena, terrified and horrified, is unable to defend herself as Volt turns his attention to her. However, as Volt launches a ball of lightning at her, Corrine intervenes, shielding Sheena with her own body. The little summon spirit tells Sheena to not give up and to try forming the pact again. Despite Sheena's pleas, Corrine apologizes for not being more helpful and dies. Thanks to a bit of wisdom from Lloyd, Sheena manages to find the courage to face Volt again, demanding his power for the sake of everyone who's protected her, and engages him in battle, emerging victorious. They form a new pact, Sheena swearing to find a way to save both worlds for everyone who has ever protected her, especially Corrine. Suddenly, Undine appears before them, informing the group that a mana link has been severed. Together, Volt and Undine explain that two summon spirits of opposing elements have never been awake at the same time, and because of that, the mana of their corresponding element that connects the worlds has been severed. The group realizes that if they can form pacts with all of the summon spirits, they can sever all of the mana links and allow the worlds to separate. Lloyd and the others thank Sheena and Corrine for facing Volt and revealing the truth behind the seals. Sheena picks up Corrine's Bell as a memento of her friend.

The group, through use of the flying Rheairds, continues to travel and make pacts with the Summon Spirits of Tethe'alla (Gnome, Celsius, and Shadow) and, thanks to the Dimensional Gate near Altimira, get warped back to Sylvarant and continue forming pacts (with Efreet and Sylph), until the only pact left is the one with Luna and Aska, the collective Summon Spirits of Light. Kratos intervenes, attempting to stop the group, but he is distracted by the leader of the Renegades Yuan. The group battles and defeats the Spirits and severs the final mana link. Instead of the worlds being restored to normal, the Giant Seed of the Kharlan Tree that Cruxis had been keeping grows out of control, wreaking destruction upon Sylvarant. The group quickly regroups and briefly discusses their options, and decide that their best chance of stopping the rampaging tree is to feed the Mana Cannon (a weapon of unimaginable power) with the mana of Tethe'alla's summon spirits. However, Lloyd hears of problems with the Iselia human ranch and decides to travel there, sending Sheena off with the Renegades. All Sheena can do is wait for the signal from Lloyd and worry about the others. When the signal comes, Sheena summons the Tethe'allan spirits and, after filling the Mana Cannon with elemental mana, gives the order to fire at the mutated tree.

The plan works, and the Great Seed is forced into slumber. Sheena heads back to Iselia following Yuan's instructions and manages to arrive at Dirk's (Lloyd's adoptive father) house just as Kratos is leaving. Lloyd welcomes her back, before heading inside to talk to Colette. Apparently, Colette has a strange illness that's turning her body into a crystal, and she'd been hiding it until she was forced to reveal it recently.

Once again, the focus of the team shifts to saving Colette. They manage to discover the cause of her sickness and the method to heal it, a special Key Crest known as a Rune Crest. Of course, to make the Rune Crest, they need to find special items; a Shard of Mana, Zircon, and a Mana Leaf Herb. They track Zircon to the Lezareno Company, but just as they are about to read the information regarding its location, Kuchinawa steals it from them. In order to save Colette, Sheena trades Corrine's Bell for the shipping information, and issues a challenge to a duel to the other. She brushes off the party's inquiries about how she feels, claiming to be fine, though occasionally it seems apparent that she misses the last memento of her friend. Later, she returns to Mizuho and duels Kuchinawa, with Lloyd as a judge, and manages to defeat him. Kuchinawa attempts suicide, but Lloyd prevents him from ending his life on the grounds that the duel is over. Kuchinawa returns Corrine's Bell, but tells Sheena he cannot return to the village as he is, and vanishes for paths unknown.

The party continues their journey for Colette's cure and eventually, discover the truth behind Cruxis, Mithos Yggdrasill, Yuan, and Kratos. Apparently, Mithos initially desired to create a world free of discrimination after being cast out of Heimdall for his half-elvish heritage, and approached the summon spirits to accomplish this. However, after Martel was killed, Mithos became obsessed with his goal of reviving her. He split the world into the worlds of Sylvarant and Tethe'alla by using the Eternal Sword, a magic sword made by the King of Summon Spirits, Origin, which has the power to transcend time and space. Then, taking the Great Seed, Mithos fused Martel's soul with it, allowing her to live on eternally until he found a vessel for her. Mithos, Kratos, and Yuan then equipped themselves with Cruxis Crystals, turning themselves into angels and stopping their aging process so they could live for however long it took to revive Martel.

The group is shaken by these revelations, but, after some discussion, realize that their goals haven't changed; they still need to reunite the worlds, obtain a Shard of Mana, and find the Eternal Sword. The most urgent things come first, the Shard of Mana. Of course, the only place to find one is on Derris Kharlan, Cruxis's headquarters, and the only way to reach Derris Kharlan is to enter through the Tower of Salvation.

Kratos set up a trap for the group, forcing them to Welgaia, though they manage to escape, retrieve a Shard of Mana, and flee for their lives. They return to Tethe'alla and enlist the skills of Altessa, a dwarf, to forge the Rune Crest. He agrees to do so and invites them to stay the night, during which there are revelations to be had, most importantly, that Mithos, a young half elf they befriended, is actually Yggdrasill, the leader of Cruxis. What a great friend.

Mithos injures Altessa, forcing the group off to find a healer. Sheena recommends the skills of a certain doctor in Flanoir. Raine, Presea, Zelos, and Regal escort him back to the dwarf's home, while Lloyd, Colette, Genis, and Sheena are left in Flanoir to await the others' return. Sheena attempts to speak to Lloyd during the night, only to find him in the company of Colette. Unsurprised despite her hopes, Sheena returns to the inn and waits for the night to end. In the morning, they regroup, and after hearing that Altessa is stable, Lloyd declares that he intends to confront Ygddrasill for the last time. He persuades the others to join him and, when confronted with the question of how to use the Eternal Sword, Zelos volunteers, letting them know he has the equivalent of elvish blood while remaining human. Sheena is suspicious about the truthfulness of this statement, though, when she questions Zelos, he evades her inquiries. The party approaches the Tower of Salvation for, hopefully, the final time. And like all the other times, it proved to be a trap, though this time, instead of Kratos being the orchestrator...

It was Zelos.

The Chosen of Tethe'alla revealed his dissatisfaction with his life, and, while attempting to get what he wanted (the status of Chosen transferred to his sister), he sold information to both Cruxis and the Renegades. He took Colette and left for Derris Kharlan, angels closing in around the rest of the company. Fortunately, the teleport ring was still active, and the remaining six were able to ascend the Tower. Slowly, various traps were sprung that forced Lloyd to leave behind a companion. Sheena is actually the second person to sacrifice herself to allow Lloyd to pass on; they are confronted by remnants of the roots of the insane Great Seed, which somehow survived the Mana Cannon's blast. Sheena called upon the summon spirits of Tethe'alla and mixed their mana within her body, resulting in a less powerful blast than the Mana Cannon's, but more than enough force the branches into the pit below it. Lloyd and Sheena end up stranded on opposite sides of the room with a gigantic hole in between them and, before Lloyd can find a way around to meet her, a root shoots out from the hole and snags Sheena's leg, dragging her in as well. The ninja manages to grab a thin vine and, despite Lloyd's desire to help her out of the pit, urges him on to save Colette. Lloyd only leaves after Sheena promises that she'll be fine and will meet up with him later, apparently not recognizing the lie the female fed him. With her (slight) crush gone, Sheena chastises herself for not acting a bit more feminine and allowing him to save her, before recognizing that such an action wouldn't be something she could naturally do. Sheena wishes Lloyd luck, and lets go of her hand hold, plummeting into the abyss below.

[Speculation, as we never really find out how Sheena survived that fall]

After falling a ways, Sheena was fortunate enough to land on a small outcrop. There, she sat, straining her eyes for any decent handhold she could use to climb up with. Unfortunately, she realized how fragile her perch was. After shifting her weight a little, the outcrop gave a sickening lurch, making it very clear that moving was a bad idea. So Sheena was stuck, unable to move to climb or summon a spirit who could let the others know where she was. Despite this, Zelos somehow managed to find her. Not that Sheena was exactly pleased to see him, as she believed him to be working with Cruxis. Completely ignoring the precariousness of her situation, Sheena stood to fight him, causing the rock beneath her to give way. For several long seconds, Sheena plummeted towards certain death, until Zelos, who had jumped after her, managed to catch her and summon his wings, rescuing both of them. Sheena was caught between two conflicting emotions again; on one hand, she wanted to believe that Zelos hadn't betrayed them, that he really was their friend, but how could he explain away betraying them? In the end, Zelos didn't ask Sheena to believe him, but to trust him when he said that Lloyd needed help at the top of the Tower. Sheena agreed, and headed up to where Ygddrasill held Colette. Along the way, she was reunited with her other companions, who had all also sacrificed themselves to allow Lloyd to pass through the traps unscathed. Together, they hurried to Lloyd's aid.

[Speculation done]

Ygddrasill attempted to attack Lloyd, but was stopped by a Fireball spell from Genis. They jumped to Lloyd's side and together, fought off Pronyma. With her last breath, Pronyma begged Mithos for help, but instead he killed her for using his former name. Colette awoke, but she was no longer Colette; Martel's soul had successfully been transplanted. However, Martel was horrified with the acts Mithos had committed, and told him so. Mithos didn't understand, until Martel spelled it out for him.

"What you have done is wrong."

Mithos refused to believe that his sister would ever say such a thing and, in his fury and slight insanity, unleashed a large amount of energy. It was then that Zelos appeared on the scene, asking Lloyd if he was alright, and returning the Rune Crest to Colette's Cruxis Crystal. Without the Cruxis Crystal keeping Colette's soul dormant, Martel was unable to remain in the blonde Chosen's body. Mithos was furious, but Martel cut in, bidding Mithos farewell for the last time and asking him to return the worlds to normal. Just before her soul left Colette's, Martel considered that maybe the elves should have never left Derris Kharlan; without such an action, half-elves like Mithos and Martel would never have been born.

Mithos twisted all of this in his mind, until it became that the two of them should return to Derris Kharlan and leave the rest of the world behind. He approached the Great Seed, determined to take it away. Our heroes couldn't let this happen, as without the Great Seed, the Giant Tree couldn't sprout, so there would never be enough mana in the world, preventing the reunification of the two worlds. They gathered themselves to face Mithos for the last time. And triumphed. Mithos vanished, leaving behind nothing but his Cruxis Crystal (which Genis picked up as a memento of his friend), and the Great Seed was still intact. It seemed as though everything was over. At least, until Kratos showed up and reminded them of the need to gain control over the Eternal Sword.

In order to use the Sword, the group must also have a pact with Origin, the forger of the Sword and King of Summon Spirits. However, Kratos maintained a seal on Origin's power, making it impossible to form a pact with the summon spirit unless they defeated him in battle. He told them to travel to Torent Forest, located within the borders of Heimdall, and find Origin's seal among the trees, he would be waiting before the seal. They do, until they stand before the seal, and Kratos with it. There, Lloyd challenges Kratos to a one-on-one battle and, when Kratos questions the wisdom of that, Colette comes to his defense. They battle, and Lloyd emerges victorious. However, he refuses to kill Kratos, claiming that he as defeated the angel who betrayed them, and that he forgave the hero of the Ancient War who protected them. Kratos scoffs, calling Lloyd a sentimental fool, and releases the mana in his body, which unlocks the seal. However, Yuan intervenes, and transfers some of his own mana to Kratos, keeping the other alive. Bitterly, Kratos laments his inability to die, resulting in Lloyd blowing up and lecturing Kratos on the value of life, since "Once you die, that's the end!... There is no meaning in dying!" (After finally having this view vocalized, the group seems to adopt it into their core beliefs.)

Sheena and Lloyd approach Origin's seal to make the pact with the summon spirit. However, Origin, after his pact with Mithos, no longer has faith in living beings. The group manages to persuade Origin into giving them another chance, by telling him about their dreams for a world where humans, elves, half-elves, dwarves, summon spirits, everyone has the right to live freely simply for the fact that they're alive, and how they truly believe that past mistakes can be corrected by their own actions. Origin agrees to test the group and, after being defeated, forms a pact with Sheena on the vow that she works to create a world where all life is valued. Exultant, Genis approaches Lloyd, only to have Mithos's Cruxis Crystal come to life. Mithos attempts to possess Lloyd, but Colette interferes, snatching the Crystal away, forcing Mithos to possess Colette. The group attempts to stop Mithos with Colette from leaving, but they fail. Mithos flees to Derris Kharlan and, to prevent the rest of the group from following, destroys the Tower of Salvation. Time is running out; to reach Derris Kharlan, Lloyd must use the Eternal Sword, but he cannot wield it without the mythical Eternal Ring, which will allow a human to use the Sword. However, it turns out that Kratos has secretly been gathering the materials and, raw items in hand, they turn to Dirk to forge the ring.

It is discovered later that Kratos has not fully recovered from his match with Lloyd, and cannot accompany him to stop Mithos. Instead, he gives Lloyd his sword Flamberge, and Dirk contributes the Vorpal Blade, his greatest work. Together, these swords are known as the Material Blades. Eternal Ring in hand, Lloyd's group returns to the ruins of the Tower of Salvation, where the Eternal Sword still lies. The Sword splits its power into two and becomes part of the Material Blades. Lloyd has now mastered the Eternal Sword with his own strength, making him the new master of the pact. As his first request, Lloyd asks the Sword to take them to Derris Kharlan.

On Derris Kharlan, yet another trap is sprung, separating the group from Lloyd. Sheena and Zelos are both transported to an unknown area. A strange black hole appears in the ground and attempts to drag them down into an area below, which houses a huge, most likely carnivorous spider. As they struggle to escape, visions of Kuchinawa and Seles (Zelos's sister) appear before them, taunting them with their weaknesses and tempting them to join Cruxis to gain forgiveness. Lloyd however, snaps them out of it; it turns out that spider was an illusion, representing their habits of running from their fears. By allowing themselves to be dragged down, they symbolically confront their fears and break the spell. Similar experiences are repeated with Regal and Presea, and Raine and Genis. Eventually, they break through, allowing them to find the Derris Emblem, the key that will allow them into Mithos's castle.

The group storms the castle and confronts Mithos- or at least, his empty shell. Thanks to the Cruxis Crystal that hitched a ride on Colette, Mithos's soul is transplanted into a new, empty vessel, and he is, for lack of better terms, resurrected. The group attempts to make Mithos see the error of his ways one last time, but Mithos, who seems to recognize his follies, refuses to beg for forgiveness. The parties clash for the final time.

This is when Sheena gets transported to the world of Memento Eden. Wonderful timing, huh?

Personality: Sheena is, in a word, passionate. She has a strong sense of justice and honor, with a temper to match (as demonstrated by the numerous times when she disciplines Zelos for his less than chivalrous comments). However, this barely begins to scratch the surface of the personality of Sheena Fujibayashi. Let's take a deeper look.

At first glance, Sheena seems to be nothing more than a tomboy, due to her occupation of ninja and lack of regard for physical modesty (her outfit). In truth, she also has a kind, gentle side that can easily appreciate beauty around her (such as when she admires flowers in Zelos's mansion, or when she decides to make a spell to help Colette feel better). After confronting her fears with Volt, Sheena also gained a healthy amount of self-confidence, though she never appears arrogant. She adores her friends, a side effect of being isolated as a child due to her failure to make a pact with Volt at the age of seven. Regardless, Sheena listens to others and gives her own opinions and if those opinions disagree, well, they disagree. However, one thing she'll never compromise on is her respect for all life, demonstrated when, after defeating Kuchinawa, she spares his life. Also apparent through her vows to the Summon Spirits.

Sheena honestly believes in doing the right thing, and cannot simply stand by and ignore atrocities occurring in front of her, as she demonstrates when attempting to protect and while rescuing the villagers of Luin from the human ranch. This is initially one of the largest internal struggles she faces as well; is she doing the right thing by condemning an innocent and that innocent's world to die for the sake of her own world's success? This need to do the right thing often results in her bending imposed rules to accomplish what she believes is right, such as, instead of killing Colette, bringing her to Tethe'alla to stop her angelic transformation.

As for quirks, well, Sheena definitely nursed a crush on Lloyd for a while, easily becoming flustered when he mention marriage or when he mentioned liking her. Her hopes were usually dashed though, as Lloyd would then mention marrying someone from Mizuho in general, or liking her as a friend. She also has a tendency to blame Zelos for events gone wrong, even when the Chosen has her best interests at heart (dragging her into the Dimensional Gate instead of letting her sacrifice herself).

She also has an unfortunate tendency to end up down a hole...
