It's okay! Well, no, it's not actually okay, but you're the same as the rest of us here. This is Memento Eden. Nobody knows why, but people don't remember anything about themselves for a while once they arrive on this island. You might remember something soon, though.

A few months. Almost three...no, four. Right. It's been long enough to remember a little bit about myself, and learn a little more outside of that.

I see. How... exactly do people remember things? Does it just happen out of the blue, or...?

I'm not sure, actually. When I was new, someone told me that people remember things more often after things happen, like festivals or celebrations. I'm not completely sure, but the first time...um, the first time I sort of remembered something was after I got stuck in a lion costume for about a week. But the second time it wasn't anything like that. That time I remembered my parents after...something happened, but it wasn't like the costumes.

That's... bizarre. [Bizarre doesn't really cover all the words going through her mind, but Sheena will censor her language for a kid.]

Hey, um, Emil... someone mentioned we need to buy things with money here, so... what... kind of jobs do they have in Memento? [She's worried she won't be qualified for one since she remembers absolutely nothing.]

Huh? Oh! That's-- [Emil's slightly relieved. Attempt to not look weird successful!]

They have all kind of jobs here! I work as a delivery person, but there are a lot of other things you could do. Teaching, cooking, cleaning, keeping a shop...there's more than just that, but I can't remember it all. If you want to find somewhere to work, you shouldn't have too much of a problem.

That's good. I should be able to find something even without any skills that I know of then...

... There's a clothing store somewhere too, right? Because I'm not really looking forward to wandering around in these. [Indicates her dripping attire.]

... I... don't really have any money. So wouldn't it be a better idea to find a job first?

I have money, so I can pay for your clothes now and you can pay me back later when you get a job. It won't be a problem, honest! I don't want you to go around wearing wet clothes all day. You might get sick or something.
