Hi everybody! I'm in a restaurant that has 30 minutes free access, so here I am.
I'm currently in Barcelona and will saty here till the 7th. We visited the barrio gotico (and a police-station, read below), today, and will try to find a restaurant to watch the playoff for the soccer World cup tonight (or we might just watch it at our hotel): it's Italy-Germany, and I can't wait.
Now the bad news: we've both been pickpocketed yesterday, on our way from the airport to the Hotel downtown. I was stolen of my wallet (which I had thoroughly chosen among my ones and that was supposed the one I'd take with me to London): inside, 300 Euros, my ATM card and my Visa card. I have the feeling that I'll bring only cash to London, as my bank won't be able to replace my cards in less than 4 working-days! My boy-friend sort of reproached me for not watching out (we were boarding, with cases and everything, on a very crowded train when it happened) and not paying attention to my belongings. Some minutes later, he was pickpocketed on the underground train. He's very anal about these things, so he was just incredulous and I know he felt terrible about this happening to him. Other 300 Euros flew away, but luckily his thief let his wallet drop on the floor, so his cards were safe. Not a bright start of our vacation, but we want to move on from this and enjoy the rest of our trip.
We both decided not to pretend we're young anymore, and that we'll be catching taxis to and from the airports from now on.
Please, remember: whenever you travel through Southern and Eastern Europe (Rome and Italy included), beware of pickpockets, and, as they are reeeeaally good at their job, scatter your cards and money to 1000 different places, so the damage is mininum.
Bye girls, I'm missing you.
