1) Would you be able to take the personality from the drama CD and add the additional information from the game to it, making the drama CD the basic canon information source? If not, have you ever tried a playthrough in which you stuck to one personality type? Or do you think that both "personalities" could just as well belong to the same person, and the protagonist is just a kind of bipolar?
This are basically the ways in which I could see this work without making him what seems to be too close to an OC. If you have other ideas/could find a way to get around this, please share. Generally spoken, if you can make a good enough case and prove to us that he's not a disguised OC, go for it! We are very open to all kinds of good reasoning.
2) Then the choice would be up to you: if you take him from before he learns the healing spell, the gem would either a) be gone outside of events or b) still be there, but be an ordinary gem that could be removed if someone decided to cut him open deeply enough. It would be your guess if the gem is only attached to his skin or rooted deep enough to make removing it lifethreatening or lethal. He would be given a tiny, seemingly useless power by the asylum as a substitute.
1) I generally play him with the perceptive/thoughtful personality in the majority of my playthroughs, using those choices and expand upon his personality plus what the other characters mentioned about him.
The naive/ignorant personality can possibly be used as either his actual personality or him purposely playing dumb (which he was called out for by his cousin in at least one ending).
2) The point where I'm thinking of taking him from, he would already learnt the healing spell. The gem is essentially fused to his skin, due to reacting to his hidden magic potential by accident, so I'm guessing it would be possible to cut it out.
Of course, he'd be restricted to using his own magic since certain canon mates are required for him to use elemental magic.
1) If you have canon evidence for the other part of his personality being intentionally "playing dumb" on his part, with the thoughtful/perceptive one being his core personality, and you explain that in your app and show it in the samples, there seems to be enough of a set canon personality to be apped? At least it seems that way to me; I would ask you to kindly wait until later tonight though, so I can talk to my co-mod before officially saying yes. I apologize for the delay.
2) In that case, outside of events, he would keep the gem and be limited to his not-combat abilities, like the healing one. If the gem has a color, the color will be significantly dulled down due to the limitation.
1) I can do my best in providing dialogue options and the immediate results from the game. Of course, depending on the answer from both of you, that'll help in whether I can app for him or choose my other guy. I'm willing to wait.
2) Alright. So the gem can stay and ends up being a very pale/dull shade of its original hue, got it.
You can app the silent protagonist if the serious side is his personality and the other side is an act, if there is an ending for it. Please make clear in your app where canon ends and headcanon/expanding starts.
