Ashura, tiring for the moment of splashing in the water, was on hir way back to hir cooler to see if there was any food in it when sie tripped over a strange man.
"Ah!" The child stumbled into the sand, dropping briefly to hir hands and knees before regaining hir footing. Ryuu-chan and Yasha always encouraged hir not to be rude to strangers, to avoid making a fuss, so sie gave the man a smile. "Ashura didn't see you there! Are you hurt?"
Ashura's smile grew less timid, and a little bit relieved. "That's good!" Shoes... most people in Carriero seemed to wear them for some reason. They kind of looked like they hurt. "Ashura doesn't wear shoes..."
And then, because sie hasn't been around people other than Yasha long enough to know that it's rude: "What's that on your face?" Sie pointed to his glasses.
Oh. Like... like the Yasha tribe's land? That had been safe for Ashura and Yasha, at least until Taishakuten's army came, but dangerous for their enemies.
"...Ashura understands." At least, sie thought so.
After a while, a very fair, very large man is wandering towards him, carrying a parasol in red, white and blue. He stops about one metre away and peers down at the other male, his features showing a childish, cheerful kind of curiousity.

"Ashura hasn't seen you before. Were you in the building with the white walls?"

"What kind of place was it?"

That was the only reason Ashura could think of to want to keep children away.
