At some point, Tako will get snatched off the bar by a certain little colony (standing on a bear to reach, no less) who is looking to give the little abomination Super Awesome Canada Hugs. That done, he'll stand beside Luka and politely clear his throat, planning to inquire for any way he can help her look less sad.

While both Lukas perked up at the sight of him, Tako's the only one who let out the delighted little squeal. But the elder Luka does lift her head from another drink, and manages a small, albeit still humorless smile. "Hey there, sweetie."

"Hello," Canada says politely, giving Tako another hug before reaching up to try to put her back on the bar. "You sort of look like you need a hug, did you know?"

Aww, you sweet little thing. There's a smile tugging at the corner of her lips, just for you, but excuse her while she plays coy for a little while. "That depends. Are you offering?"

"If you need one." He gave her a little smile, as if encouraging her that yes, she definitely needed a hug and one from him was going to be helpful.

She smiles even wider at that. Such a sweet kid. Even just the thought that he cared makes her feel a little better. "That's very generous of you." She slides off her seat and kneels down to his height, her arms open. "I accept."

Canada didn't need to be told twice, immediately rushing forward to fling his arm around Luka's neck. Of all the sorts of hugs he knew, that was the one that always seemed best for making someone smile.

There is nothing that can possibly make her feel awful right now. She embraces him firmly, but gently, half-tempted to pick him up right then and there, but she wouldn't want to scare him. She stays like that for a few moments, before reluctantly letting him go, but not without a big smile. "Thank you. That made me feel a lot better now."

[furgotten]

"Really?" He seemed happy about that; he'd given her one of his best hugs, after all. "If you ever need any more hugs to feel better, just let me know. I like to help and you're very nice."

Oh that is just too precious. She beams, leaning in to give him a peck on the forehead. "You're so sweet, Nouvelle. I'll remember that."

[furgotten]

The peck made him laugh a little, quietly happy to have been helpful. "Oh, good. I don't want you to be sad, even though this place is a very unhappy one."

How many more ways could he possibly endear himself to her? Her smile does soften though, at the thought of where they really are. "And how have you been? Not getting into trouble, I hope."

"No, I have been trying to be good and helpful. Sometimes I get lost, though," the colony admitted sheepishly. Without the usual things to follow, stars and animals, getting his bearings was at times difficult.

It's expected, she guesses, considering how small he is and how big this place had suddenly gotten. She would say that this asylum is fairly safe for a small child like him to walk around in, but given what Medic had done…

"That's all right. At least you have your communicator with you, so you can call for help if you need it. Don't be afraid to do that, okay?"

[furgotten]

Canada nodded. "I almost understand how to send things now, so I will."

"I'm glad." Those things may seem useless in here at first, but when they get teleported elsewhere… "Just let me know if you ever need any help, okay?"
