Miku was back to normal it seemed.. But did that mean that she had 'died' too? Or had she simply switched places with the other version of herself for a few days? This was all so confusing, even more so when it involved robots.. Sighing, he sat down on one of the few remaining bar stools next to the partly destroyed counter, deciding to listen to Miku's singing for a while. She seemed happy at the moment, but then, she always did when something concerned music.

It took her a little while to notice that Gokudera had come in. Black ★ Rock ★ Shooter -- you're not alone anymore!" When she saw Gokudera around then, she shrugged lightly at him, pointing to the microphone and the machine and herself in a disjointed gesture meant to convey she was currently occupied. Coming up with things like that was pretty difficult for her. This was quite likely the single happiest he'd ever seen her: The reunion with her sister was bittersweet, tempered as it was by the fact that now she was here... but this was unadulterated.

The half-Italian nodded in understanding; he didn't really want her to stop. Resting his head in his hand, he observed the robot girl as she sang, all smiles like she didn't have a care in the world; it was nice to see her like this. Of course, that look would change the moment the bastards decided to make the karaoke machine vanish again..

Unconsciously, he tapped his fingers against the counter along with the song's rhythm; it was sort of catchy.

She'd noticed him at a fairly late point in the song, so it wasn't very long before she finished up, leaving the karaoke machine to automatically play some theme song she'd never heard before quietly on the selection screen.

"Hey, Gokudera! How are you doing? I can't - I can't believe it, there was one back in my house on the beach and Mikuo and I were going to have a totally awesome karaoke party but then, you know, there was the real party, and then that was... that was gone, so..." She waved her arms around, flailing somewhat. Her point was that this had been at the back of her mind for a very long time. The individual instruments that Gokudera and Prussia had were wonderful in their own right, but they just weren't what she was used to, not what her voice was made for. This was. "So yeah. So. How are you?"

*Cracks up at the ''random'' theme song* XD charinjo2 June 13 2011, 15:24:36 UTC
''I'm fine'' he said with a smile. It probably looked a bit forced though since he wasn't being entirely honest; the teen was still somewhat troubled with all the recent happenings. ''I don't think this is the right setting for a party, but you should continue singing now that you finally have access to a karaoke machine again.'' Before the bloody fucktards take it away.. ''Don't mind me; I'll wait.''

Fortunately it's not displayed with any imagery from the show, that'd just be strange future_hatsune June 13 2011, 16:30:06 UTC
"Oh, really? Okay." She's clearly relieved that he doesn't actually want her to stop. "Just let me know if you have any requests, all right?" She doesn't want to be flat-out antisocial, after all. "You do have a point that a real party would be weird... no normal stuff, and all..." Yeahhhh, that was beginning to get a little bit down on her. She went past that and reached for the selection screen, scrolling through looking for her next choice.

Yup! charinjo2 June 13 2011, 16:48:57 UTC
''Sure thing. Just go ahead and play one of your favorites.''

He didn't really feel like talking at the moment so listening to her singing suited him just fine. The teen hoped she'd take care to avoid singing any C7 notes though..

"All right!" She picked out World Is Mine and lingered over it for a moment. "Oh, wait... this has some pretty high notes in it..." She wasn't sure if she could actually sing those right anymore what with that weird thing that happened at certain pitches! Oh, that would just be terrible...

Shit; she's probably thinking about the same thing I did.. Gokudera racked his brain, trying to come up with some sort of Japanese pop song without high notes; Miku needed to be distracted. Failing to come up with anything at the moment, he decided to join her by the machine to have a look at the song selection.

''I have a request; this one.'' Gokudera said, pointing at a song called Melody. The Italian had never heard of it before so it was a gamble; he studied her reaction, hoping that it wasn't another high-pitched song..

"Oh!" The choice of song was a clever one. In the lower part of her comfortable register, as well as being one of her earlier pieces, it had a somewhat special place in her heart. Though not that special. Having a special place in her heart could get pretty difficult for a song after a while because she just loved all of them so much. Her face warmed up as her previous worries melted away.

"This was one of my first big hits, you know. Never got past the million but there was still a pretty big impact! It's such a shame that Mikuru396 never made anything else that popular - I really liked working with her~" She babbled in happy nostalgia as the dissonant intro began to play.

I did it! The teen was rather pleased with himself so his grin came pretty close to being a genuine one right now.

''Ah, I see! Well, I look forward to hearing it then.'' Gokudera said as he headed back to his chair to listen to the robot's performance.

She was pleased that her choice seemed to excite him. It was so rare that Gokudera looked happy at all. She wondered if his attitude had more to do with this place or his past... Well, that didn't really matter. It was his own business, and she had hers to take care of!

"When I was all alone completely~ You held your hands out with love to me~" She went through the song like she was at peace again. Her voice sounded a little more synthetic than it usually did, luxuriously holding notes longer than humanly possible.

Flails at the cuteness in the above tags with Kouki ^^ charinjo2 June 30 2011, 06:44:34 UTC
It was seldom indeed. Keeping Miku happy was a worthy goal in itself since he considered her a friend by now, but it also worked as a defense mechanism since it allowed him to concentrate on something else than trying to make sense of everything that had happened recently. Knowing that everyone had seen his child self was slightly unnerving, and being so young had caused a lot of old memories to resurface. The child's terror right before dying had been quite disturbing too, and seeing his burned remains..

Miku's singing was soothing though. Gokudera lit up a cigarette and leaned back on his chair as he listened.

The kind of unhappiness that Miku had gone through in the asylum really put her out of her element. It was like being asked to write novels or wait tables for a living: Not what she was made for, not what she was used to. Falling back into her standard starry-eyed patterns after all that grief Carriero had put her through was such a relief.

Her eyes flickered over to him when Gokudera lit up. Seeing him smoking in a wooden building... Well, it was probably safe. Probably. Yeah. She had to stay cool. She went on having only missed a beat or two.

I'm looking forward to the day Luka finds out about it XD charinjo2 June 30 2011, 22:11:18 UTC
He noticed Miku's slight slip; was something wrong? She had seemed to be eyening his cigarette a few moments ago..

''The smoke won't damage your circuits, right?'' Gokudera assumed that she would have mentioned it before if that was the case; he had smoked in her presence plenty of times already after all. Still, he wanted to make sure. ''You have filters or something?''

That will probably be... soon... xD;;;; future_hatsune June 30 2011, 22:49:10 UTC
She shook her head "no" and then clarified during an instrumental. "No, it's fine! It's not like I breathe it in for real or anything. I just... it's nothing, I'm just scared of this place burning down. I know it's stupid." But those flames... the screaming... knowing that in her naivete she dragged little Kouki down with her too...
