Day One - [Action - Floor A]

[Miku is somewhat disappointed. Waking up somewhere she hadn't been the night before is only a little above unpleasant surprise in her book. She tries all the doors, which is how she found out this wasn't Crypton: The outfits were clearly not her own. (Not to mention that the nightgown she was wearing also was not her own - Miku didn't really want ( Read more... )

You have a wonderful voice, bellissima.

[Still in bed, but this is a voice that he'd shorten his siesta for.]

[The choice of address baffles Miku, but then flatters her. This man is rather intimidating; he's at least a head taller than her and foreign on top of it. That expression of his is also rather, well...]

I've heard that before. [She laughs nervously.] I'm Miku Hatsune. Your name, sir?

Lovino Vorgas. [Smiling his best smile, the one that is reserved for flirting.] Is the place next to you free?

[Her eyes flick over to Ashura, but she decides it will take a little while until it is right to talk to the child. Besides, a man with a smile like this needs to be acommodated.]

I suppose it is. [She twirls her hair around her finger, but becomes worried as she analyzes the gesture. Did she read once that it was a sign you were flirting? Or that it meant you wanted to get away and be alone? She lets her hands drop and clasps then at her waist.] If I may ask, what's your line of work?

[He sits down next to her,s till smiling pleasantly, but uh, that question is the one that he hates. It's a bit of a hard one... He used to be a servant in Spain's house, and then he suddenly... just was in his brother's house. They had been supposed to run everything together, but somehow, Veneziano took over. And then...

His voice sounds a bit subdued when he speaks.] I kind of work for the government, I guess.

[And back to smiling] What do you do?

IRL I wanted to laugh at that occuaption future_hatsune September 26 2010, 13:15:00 UTC
[His vague answer disappoints her a little bit, and she would like to inquire further if he did not seem so upset about it. The assumption she takes away is that he has a low position in government buildings, like a bureaucrat or maybe even a janitor, far from what he had hoped for himself in life. But being encouraged to mention her occupation makes her happy enough to forget these concerns.]

Oh, I'm a singer. [She fiddles with her tie excitedly.] In fact, back home I'm famous enough that you might consider me a diva.

my other nation always explains it as "I serve under the king" mezzo_giorno September 26 2010, 13:32:25 UTC
[That... isn't so far from the thruth, actually. he had always thought that one day, he would be really independent. And then the unification happened, and suddenly he wasn't even a nation himself anymore.]

What kind of songs do you sing? [Sweet. This sounds like a really interesting girl.]

[It's probably for the best, then, that Miku doesn't really want to ask him about having any siblings, since her own relationships in that area are a little complicated.]

Pop, mostly, hardly anything I do ever has acoustic backgrounds. [She feels like she has skipped over a minefield by avoiding actually saying the word "synthesized".] Some of it is really sad music that tends to incorporate piano, though. [She bites her lip.] To be honest I really don't sound as good a capella.

[After saying that she realizes it sounds like she's fishing for a compliment, but figures he won't mind. What to call him begins to worry her - being foreign he'll think Vargas sounds too stiff, Mr. Vargas would make her seem like a little girl, and she doesn't really feel comfortable addressing him by first name. Maybe she can get by with enough "you know" and "so yeah".]

Her body would probably confuse him so much |D mezzo_giorno September 26 2010, 19:29:45 UTC
[It's not that he actively dislikes Veneziano; he even likes him. But there is a lot of bitterness, and a lot of being strangers to each other, the brothers having grown up far away from each other.]

...Maybe, if we could find a guitar...

[He frowns and pulls his legs against his chest in a light, involuntary gesture of protection. Of course his brother is better at playing the guitar, too, but he is quite good himself. It just took him much longer.] I could accompany you.

I seriously can see it taking until "BACIAMI--wait that is not a tongue" for him to figure it out future_hatsune September 26 2010, 21:59:13 UTC
[Well, that would be much easier to explain than "we're adoptive siblings, but we were made by the same company, but wait you see we kind of don't really have any serious concept of incest--" It's a shame Miku doesn't know how similar that kind of state of affairs is to the system of the world as nations understand it.]

That would be nice, but I kind of have some other things to do. There are quite a few people around here, I don't want to be cut out of the social loop, you know? [She stands up; becoming chipper again.] I'll probably see you around soon, though.

I'll see you.

[This place isn't so bad, after all. It has nice girls, now he just has to find good food and it will be alright. PLUS jerk Spain isn't here, that is a good thing, right?]
