ahh. rut. you have become my home.
I'm learning more and more as I go on.
1. i don't need stability to be happy
2. i don't particularly like stability either
3. but anything's better than predictability
You know those people that wake up and go wow I'm 40 (or 30, or 50 or whatever) where did my life go.
Those are people who thrive on stability and predictability. When every day is the same, the days blend together, the years blend together and all of a sudden before you know it your 40.
That is what my life is now. I would rather be a broke grad student, a struggling actress/ author/whatever because then at least every day is an adventure. I am jealous of you all.
I remember over a year ago when I wrote an entry about watching Cloverfield and wishing that a giant monster would attack philly just so I could have a little adventure in my life. I was 24 when I wrote that.
i'm 26 now.
My how things (don't) change.
If I wasnt married to a man who depends on stability I would up and quit my job. Probably tommorow. And then figure out what to do next. Because I know deep down that I don't try my hardest to get a job, unless i don't have a job to begin with.
Besides, after staring at a computer screen for 10 hours straight every day, that is the last thing I want to do is go home and stare at a computer again. at craigslist, phillyadclub, talentzoo, mediabistro.
Additionally, I don't want to be an advertising account executive anymore. Unless it is on Mad Men.
As God is my witness I will NOT have my soul sucked dry by the tedium monster. I need a new challenge.
anyone know of any fun opportunities? As my linkedin profile states:
I am a chiefly creative person with the efficiency and communication skills to coordinate and manage as well. I like ideas and innovation.
Specialties:
Strategy, Concepting, Spinning, Copywriting, Research
Or, i can come up with my own business ideas. For instance, last week i had an idea for a giant sponge. why is it that all sponges are the same size? what about for cleaning your shower, or tub. you'd need a big sponge. why doesnt anyone sell any big sponges like 9" x 6" sponges? My friend sarah then told me they did sell them in specialty stores.
oh well.
the next idea is right over the horizon.
