Whirlwind times

One of our mates, Rev was flown to KL from Melbourne as a guest DJ and M & I went up to KL to visit him and rock up the weekend. We managed to get an superb deal at a 5 star exclusive hotel nearby KLCC. The room was spacious enough to be a 2 bedroom apartment. I love the hotel! Kinda reminds me of the W Hotel range mixed with the Mondrain group Hotels - uber chic, modern and luxurious. Big areas for us girls to make up and amazingly huge sunken bath tub and separate open concept rain tree shower.

But horrificly, 2 hours after I arrived - I was mugged in the night club! Everything was stolen and that included my handbag, purse with credit cards, my 2 mobile phones and digital camera with work related pictures! As it was horrendously chaotic with numerous fights happening concurrently inside and outside the club, we made our way back to the hotel to cancel my credit cards first. Plus I'd been warned that I would never ever see my stuffs again. Well try making a police report at 6am to the incompetent staff hold...who singlehandedly gave me the keyboard to type my own report.

This incident aside, I had a sensational time in KL, not as if I seen a lot except clubs and Rev's family members. He organised a huge BBQ for us with yummy steak and lamb chops, aussie style! Once back in Singapore and after activating back my phone line, I had a queue of people screaming down my ears asking why I didn't pick up their calls over the weekend. Duhssss...missing phone = no contact! Let the dots connect....

A couple of friends based in Google Zurich came to Singapore for both work and leisure for 2 weeks and boy...as hosts we tried our best to keep up. I arranged a wine tasting session at one of my work restaurants to kickstart our party session last friday for our group of 11 with the most eclectic and international mix of people. J & I were the only locals in our table, with a good mix of frenchies, brits, aussies and even Kyrgyzstan.

One common thing was our love for wines & cheese! As I met up with J at his place first and we were running late for the appointment, I was rushing J to drive faster....and suffered the consequences dearly as I went into motion sickness mode. No that he's a lousy driver, on the contrary he is one of the safest drivers around - but he decided to just change to bigger tyres and hence more sensitive to movements...and i was being a bitch as usual. Knowing J being the sweetest bloke around, he was the most patient around me that evening, even after I got really smashed in the club, he was the one always around to make sure im ok and not being trampled on by others.

So the google boys came and left, leaving me a few nights to recuperate. It was quite sad as I really bonded with one of them and due to miscommunication, we were not able to spend more time together. J played host to his friends from Hong Kong last weekend, people he knew from university in Denver days. He asked me along to join them and as always, we had an awesome time and they left wanting more!

I think I've friends from London coming in on the 1st or 2nd week August, I have been so flat out at work that I sometimes am so forgetful. And my bestie is flying from Korea for 3 weeks holidays in August! I am soooo excited!

As of start July, I was given a double promotion at work which was a pleasant surprise. I've longer hours as I am out for heaps more meetings, but no biggies for me. I love the interactions and meeting new people. Plus I get to dine out at the restaurants more. I love the challenges and it keeps me going.

I am enjoying immensely time with the lovely friends here at home. I always bring my company's cupcakes whenever there is a gathering at J's place - and so I did. 2 weeks ago, there was a gathering to meet the lovely people from my previous work place. I am desperately trying to get rid of the belly from all the great food.

Oooo travel plans have changed - J is coming back to Sing in December with his whole family and we are celebrating Christmas here. Only problem is - J is planning a trip to Paris in early December with his family and I wont be able to make it due to work committments. So it looks liked San Francisco and Vegas will be postponed to March next year and I may go to EU to visit my close friend in early Jan. How organic changes are in our everyday life...cest la vie!
