Dec 10, 2007 15:11

hmmm. i might be wrong after all. pero kebs. i'll gladly be wrong. for now. pero pag makakita ako ng mas magaling, i might change my opinion. anyway, a few days ago, i wrote HERE that come Februray 2008, Amy Ryan is sure to get an Oscar nomination. but i said i was sure that she wouldn't win.

i'm now starting to think that i'll end up eating my words. especially after these...

add these to her National Board of Review win last week, and that gives Amy Ryan FIVE wins so far. that's FIVE wins in less than a week. whoa. plus, considering the notion that the New York and Los Angeles critics groups are supposedly the biggest and most influential groups (and she won BOTH), that puts her waaaay out front right now. i so did not expect that.

on another note, so far, it's a near sweep for "No Country For Old Men". dammit! ang tagal naman dumating ng pirated dvd nun dito! anubah!!!!

other favorites are emerging too -- the Coen brothers, Marion Cotillard, Julie Christie, Javier Bardem, and Ratatouille. and Juno for Best Original Screenplay.

this Oscar race is already a lot more fun that last year's!!
