From this valley they say you are going...

Our weekend to the cabin was abbreviated, although not by much. I got what I'm pretty sure is strep/flu combo and since I met Nolan there, had to make the two hour trip home by myself. Urgh. And since all I seem to be able to do since is sleep or stare, glassy-eyed at the television, propped up by pillows, I'd do a little photoessay of the two days we were in Childress.

There are too many commas in that sentence. My fever is too high to figure out what's wrong.

I should preface this post with the fact that I finally got a new camera. Thanks Dad and Jerry & Lanell. :D

Ethan. Pensive. Working on his audition for The Outsiders. Or waiting for us to get in the car, one or the other.

Aaron being Aaron. It's a full time job.

There's this massive train engine from the Ft. Worth Denver line in Childress. And the boys (all three of them) inexplicably like to climb all over it. It might be illegal to do this. I don't know. But, you know, that's how I roll. I color outside the lines and let my kids do borderline juvenile delinquent things, like play train robbers on a retired engine. *flips up my collar*

You'll note that Ethan's feet ARE NOT TOUCHING ANYTHING.

I told him to BE CAREFUL and that I wasn't taking him to the emergency room, that if he got hurt, he'd just have to suck it up and bleed out.

His answer was a sunny, "Okay, Mom!"

Boys.

Feet ON something. Better, but not ideal.

Abs is one photogenic dog.

She and I went on a walk to the front gate, where she thought she might just sit and wait for the boys and Katie to come back.

We were stopped by stickers in paws (I TOLD her to stay on the road, but she can be hardheaded - to her credit there's much more interesting stuff in the grass to sniff. And stickers, though. That's the price a dog has to pay), cows and deer.

Jerry and Lanell joined us on Saturday night and we had dinner together.

The cabin might be in the sticks, but it has the best sunsets.

I assume the sunrises are good, too, but I haven't ever seen one personally.

But the sunsets are enough for me.

If you are inclined to do so, would you mind shooting up a prayer to the Big Guy? I haven't been this sick in a long time. Thanks!
