Dismayed, Disbelieving, Disgusted...

I saw The Mummy, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

First of all, no one is a bigger fan of Brendan Frasier than I am.  No one.  I love him.  I adore him.  if i weren't happily married with two kids, I'd offer myself up to him on a silver platter, really.

But the Mummy 3?

Um...  not his best work.

First of all, the new Evie?  No chemistry with Rick.  The lines were there, the blocking, but it was still FLAT.  I need Evie to be quirkily charming.  Maria Bello tried, and at times she was sort of endearing, but overall; she wasn't Evie.

The man who played Alex?  His name is Luke Ford, and he may have replaced Brendan in my heart.  This kid is HOT.  Smoking hot.  And all kinds of adorable.  I have a weakness for redheads.  When he smiles?  Guhuhuh.  And I didn't even mind that the kid in the Mummy two had a British accent and this grown up Alex had a New York accent.  (And not really a good one.)  But overall?  Really, really cute.  I didn't care, as long as he was onscreen.  I could tune out because of all the pretty.

The plot?  Um...  okay.  Some of the plot devices?  Come ON.  Armies of the undead?  Again?

John Hannah, who I usually love, had to deliver some of the cheesiest lines of the movie.  I was embarrassed for him.

Jet Li?  How much money did they give you for this, man?

We did see the movie at the Alamo Drafthouse, which has a waitstaff and beer and food that you can order throughout the movie.  I love that place.  Super fun stuff.  Having a drink while you're watching the movie?  Cool, man.  All sorts of cool.

However, in short, if I ever meet Brendan Frasier in person, right after i flail and squee and tell him how awesome he is, I'm totally asking for my $13 back.

We've got dinner reservations for 9:30.  I'm about to gnaw my own hand off, I'm so hungry.
