Wow, I kinda forgot about this thing.
Um, not much going on. Christmas was nice....I focused more on the spiritual meaning of it this year. My new "bedtime reading" is the Bible. I have this Bible that is translated into modern English, which make the stories MUCH more interesting. For example, I read all about Daniel last week, and this week I'm reading on Moses. So is it me, or was God a lot meaner in the Old Testament? Maybe it was just poor communication between God and us, so that's why he had to send Jesus....a mediator of sorts. Which reminds me, I saw a church billboard sign that says "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? --God". Ha ha.
And what's up with Job? To me it seems like he was just kinda being good, minding his own business, being a model citizen both in society and in the spritual sense...and then WHAM! God and Satan start placing bets on how much devestation ol' Job can take without cursing the name of God. So, they kill off all his livestock, his kids, his servants, and plague him with festering boils. And the whole time, Job is like "Um, what the heck did I do to deserve this?" His friends come to comfort him, and they're all like "Man, you MUST have done something pretty horrible to deserve all this", and Job is all "No, dude, I'm telling you I haven't done nothin' wrong". And then after several bouts of cursing the day he was born and begging God to tell him why this happened to him, God comes down and says "Listen, I'm GOD. Don't question me.....I've created everything from alligators to flowers. Anyway, you've passed the test and now I'm going to give everything back to you". Wow.
Well, now that you've read my Bible-thumping journal, feel free to skip church for the next 3 Sundays.
