post boomday
worked last night. I couldn't passup the doubletime pay for the holiday, since I have no life n'd all. I am tired of the fireworks and displays of burning money already. (I live on an Indian reservation so all I've heard is fireworks for the past several months. Right now its silent... WOOHOO!) Bosslady said I could come in early at 8pm instead of 11 if I wanted, and heck yeah, more money for holiday pay, so ofcourse. She gave us overnighters all the option of either coming in at 8, or the usual time, or midnight for the fireworks shows. Three of us showed up at 8, another few more at 10, and slowly more through the rest of the night. The crew never made it to full crew status as there were many "I'm calling in sick (cough cough)(uh, huh...) calls (I'm not think as you I drunk I am?!) type of calls. Just people fighting party syndrome. But well we ended up with a small crew for a heavy freight night so everybody was doing above and beyond their share. Did my usuall electronics area, then did furnature, then after my first 10 hours, (most folks only did their 8's) I volunteered to stay on further cause the night shift had pretty much deserted and left a nasty mess for the extremely understaffed cleaning crew. I stayed on another four hours to help clean the store. Well, store is spotless now(well it was then, it degrades in seconds with customers) (Oh and it also helped us all that Wal-Mart was actually CLOSED! no bitchy customers whining for keys for unlock of this and that slowing me down from my freight. No babysitting the shoplifters, no people to screw with me! Made it sooo nice. So here's the skinny, there's four hours of doubletime, 6ish hours regular, then another 4ish ours at time and a half, so like ROCK ON, that paycheck is just toing to be sweet. Oh and the previous workshift, also on the holiday day I worked from midnight (holiday), 8 and a half hours more doubletime from the previous workshift. whew, I'm set for awhile on this paycheck.
Money, money, money :) and suposedly I'm in the running for stocker of the quarter for our store. twould be nice, since we are such a big store there's lots of people to offer that award to, but I guess I've been like going above and beyond. cool cool...
Can't wait for that paycheck ;) Oh and there's not been a single noticable explosion since I started writing, woohoo that means I can sleep during the days again. mmminlove :)
