The weather is getting fairer and warmer. Spring is technically in two weeks now, too. I'm looking forward to it. Has anyone thought about what they'll do, once it comes?
That's not surprising. You were born somewhere cold, right? So you would be at ease with this kind of weather more. What do you think of these blizzards here, contrasted to what you were used to? [For science! Just curious, really!]
Why is the term "frost giant" used, by the way, if you don't mind me asking? The modern image of a giant would be a hulky and burly individual that would probably measure at least three meters tall... Which you aren't, Loki. [Blink.] Not even in your other form, I think.

[Moenato, for the record, would still look cute in hibernation.]
To you, it might be. To me, it's my hometown.
[He hums thoughtfully.]
It's what I've been telling humans for ages, boyo. It's what you can relate most to, since your literature is practically peppered with them.
I'm a jötunn, which roughly translates to 'giant' - or if you're feeling peckish, man-eaters - in your languages. Frost giant because I was born in Niflheimr - the northern part of our world.
And really, you expect me to keep the form of a hideous giant with, say, five heads? I need to keep up appearances!
What exactly have you been telling people? There probably is a limit within all languages to accurately translate just what you are, in the meaning your own tongue. ...Yeah, 'man-eater' would probably scare a lot more people than just 'giant'. [Saying this with a straight - contemplative, even - face. ...Nothing new there.
....Right! Nodding to himself.] You're a shapeshifter. That makes sense.

[He grins at the question.]
I've been telling more humans that I'm a man-eater! An ogre works fine too. It's more fun to watch their faces.
And - well - holding a giant's form in Midgard gets boring, you have to hide if you don't want humans getting uppity and ruining your shirt with a lot of arrows or swords or whatever. [His grin fades a little at this. Exile in human plane == not a walk in the park 8|;;;]

But you don't look like one at all. A bit flashy and highly suspicious, maybe, but I can't think of anything else on the spot.
...There is that, I guess. [So the jötunn shadows WERE named after those of Norse myths! Interesting! :o] Hiding's only part the reason, though, isn't it? [Not insinuating anything! Just telling the truth? :>b]

For me, they're probably like what a fresh summer breeze is to you humans.

You're not exaggerating?. That's... really cold. [Does that mean I can probably hibernate I MEAN so eloquent he is, sometimes. :D;]
