So I don't have a TV, bcz I can watch just about anything on my computer. I was watching the debates, when I hear a scrambling noise and some hissing from beneath my desk. I take a peak to find Penelope on top of my subwoofer, where she spends a lot of her time. This time, her hind paw was caught in the ventilation holes on the back of my subwoofer and she was all angry and panicky about not being able to escape. I left her alone for about 5 minutes hoping she'd find a way, but when the 5 minutes were up it hadn't worked. I was afraid to go near her cuz I thought she'd either chomp at my hand or use her free claw to scratch at me. So I went to my closet and dug out my winter gloves, and used one hand to hold her by the scruff of the neck. (Which I have read relaxes cats by releasing some hormone and that's why kittens are able to be carried happily by their necks). It turned out that more than one claw was stuck in the holes so no matter which way I moved her paw, I wasn't able to release it. Finally I decided on my scissors. Unfortunately they were not able to cut through the nail, but I was able to grab each individual nail and slowly remove it. Afterwards I wished I had the foresight to realized I would have wanted a picture of me handling a cat with a pair of gloves and some scissors.
