and as i watch you disappear into the distance
a feeling came over me
one that i have not felt in a long time
it was a feeling of being alone
alone once more

my closed eyes bring out the memories of you
memories of the best of you, the happy you
i sometimes catch myself believing you're there
then when i realize you're not
it makes the alone feeling so much more intolerable

did you see me standing there watching
hurting as you became one with the night
and fading into the black skies
one tear came over me at the thought of being alone
but it was quickly frozen up
maybe because of the temperature
maybe because no one was there to see it

as i drift off to sleep
i'm left with one vision
your eyes
the eyes that hold another life
another world, another love
