Yesterday was simply amazing.
I was writing a paper in my room when it turned midnight and Sara, Kara, Carly, and Hillary busted down my door and showered me with "Happy birthday!s." I then went to bed after my paper was done and my roommate decorated our door with wrapping paper and signs. I went to sleep around 12:45 and woke up at 8:25... (5 minutes after my birth time). I left my room to take a shower and there were balloons around my door! At first I thought that my roommate had put them up because she had planned to decorate the door after I was asleep. I took a shower and pondered about who put the balloons up. As I got dressed and ready for class Leah woke up so I asked her about the balloons. She said she had no idea what I was talking about, so I kept pondering.
I went down stairs to meet my friend Sara in her room because we always get breakfast together on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It turned out that she and Kara put the balloons up at 7:10!!!! Kara usually gets up that early, but Sara doesn't! It was SO SWEET!!! I then realized that I forgot my 13 page paper that was due for my class that I had been working on for weeks with my friend Sarah Breen. I booked it upstairs and then I had a delightful breakfast of marshmallow mateys (lucky charms) and a delicious raspberry pastry.
I then went to class and turned in my mammoth paper. Then I made my way back to the dorm to chill out. I ended up reading outside because it was PHENOMENALLY BEAUTIFUL outside. After reading a few pages I checked my mail with Sara and Kara. My sister sent me one of the Jason Mraz EPs and I got a card from Jamie and a card from Kara! yaaaay. We then ate lunch.
After a glorious meal, we sat on the most delightful grassy hill. It was amazing. I then went to class which was a terrible idea. The grassy hill was calling my name. I kept getting phone calls and texts during class, so the two girls who sit next to me were like "why are you getting all these calls?!" and I was like "it's my birthday!" and they freaked out and this chick Ashley made me a card. It made me smile. ALSO!! she told me that the glass ring I was wearing was called a wish ring, and you're supposed to make a wish when you put it on, and the wish comes true when the ring breaks. I have broken 2 of them before without making wishes because I had no idea! aah.
After science, I got an iced coffee and the boy who made it for my magically knew it was my birthday, and said "Happy Birthday!!" He was delicious and adorable. I'm thinking your birthdate pops up whenever you swipe the dining dollars card thingy. He was sweet for saying it though.
I then made my way to my tourism class, where I realized I had forgotten to do the homework. It's okay though because the professor is a cool dude and really honestly doesn't care about due dates. I got out of class a half hour early, so I made my way back to the dorm.
At 5:00 I got a phone call from my friend Kara asking me where I was. We had sorta kinda made plans to get together after class, so she was confused when I didn't walk out of the building. She ended up picking me up from my dorm and we went on a stroll.
She took me to a picnic bench where Sara and Carly were chillin with pizza and smartfood. =D They are adorable. It was so amazing! uuugh. I love them. They are awesome. We ate pizza and then they gave me gifts! I honestly was not expecting ANYTHING! THEN! THEY FLIPPING GIVE ME AN AMAZING PICNIC AAAAAAAND PRESENTS! aah. First. They gave me an amazing card. hahaha. A photoshopped picture of me and this guy who I'm in love with here (who may or may not be extremely gay) caressing each other sort of. The inside says "What a cute couple! :) Happy birthday Jess!" uggh! SO CUTE! Then they gave me a photoshopped picture of me and Flight of the Conchords! Theeeen. They gave me purple Floam and a gift certificate for a massage! they are flipping amazing. Everything was dead on. aaah. They rock at life. After that, the presented me with my "cake." ooh! everything was wrapped in newspaper by the way. very adorable! anywho. I unwrapped my cake and it was a HUGE rice krispie treat that I had seen one day at a convenience store here. They are so unbelievable. oh my god.
Anywho. I almost started crying because everything was perfect! I had never gotten presents like that. They really do listen to me when I babble!!! It was incredible. I had mentioned every single one of those things just in passing. I always babble, not expecting anyone to pay attention, but they do! After pizza and gifts, we did a photo shoot with all of the blooming trees. :-D
We then went over and got delicious icecream. It was seriously yummy. After that, we went inside and tried to watch Flight of the Conchords, but so much was going on that it was hard to focus. We then wanted to go to the improv show like we do every Thursday, but the show was moved to Friday because it is the Alumni show. It was really dumb of them to move it because everyone and their brother will be going to the Dropkick Murphys tonight. Anywho, we stayed in and watched Grey's Anatomy and Sleeping Beauty.
After tons of TV, there were still 20 minutes left on my birthday! Sara, Kara, Carly and I went outside and stuck a candle in the rice krispie treat! :-D Amazing. We then offered some to random boys walking by on the street. We saw this guy walking by and I was like "HEEEEEY! WANT SOME RICE KRISPIE TREEEEEEAT?!?!" and he was like "yeah!" So he came over and told us about how he got locked out of the bar for getting a newspaper or something crazy like that. We chatted and he asked why we had a gigantic RKT and I told him it was my birthday. He was like "21?" and I was like "no"... "20?" "No" "19?" "Yes!" "::disappointed tone:: ooh. Happy birthday" It was pretty funny. As he was walking away, he was like "are these poisoned?!" and we were like "uuuuuh, no. 'course not :D" Then we got another adorable guy who was suuuuper cute with glasses and a striped shirt. We gave him big chunks and he said happy birthday to me! :)THEN! the laaaast guy. He was walking by and he was on the phone, but I decided to ask him anyway, and he came over and said to his friend on the phone "Okay, so I'm here with 4 beautiful ladies and they are offering me some RKT. There is a lighter and some other drugs things on the bench (candle). What should I do? ... Yeah, they do look pretty trustworthy..." To prove they weren't poisoned, I ate a bit and then gave him huge chunks. He asked what was in it and we all laughed. He talked to us for a bit and he was really cool. As he was walking away, he referenced the movie Pay It Forward. It was adorable.
Best birthday ever.
