How I loathe this place, I cannot even begin to describe this feeling I get when I stand in this room with these brightly coloured walls and these wooden floors. I look out the window and all I see are millions of strange lights, and tall buildings. It is strange to me how these... humans, could have created such vast structures and objects and ( Read more... )

I was growing more nervous about this entire decision as the minutes dragged by. But I couldn't back out, I made my committment to go, and I wrangled in my friends to go with me. There was no turning back now.

Luckily for me, I had quite the entourage, so protection wasn't really an issue. Or was it? The one thing that had secretly bothered me about this, was the fact that Landok was purposely shielding his aura from me. It's like he was hiding something. Like there was something he didn't want me to know. I had to be wary of him.

As he followed Groo down the lobby stairs, I took a deep breath to try and relax myself. Being in his presence was unsettling enough as it is.

"Well 'cus," I said with a conceding sigh, "Looks like I'm going home."

I could tell right away, that if there was one thing that Landok hated, was the very sight of me. The fact that I was having relations with one of his kind sickened him, even though he would not openly admit it as long as he was under our roof. I'm thinking it will be a whole other story once we get to Pylea, but for now? Who says I can't mess with him?

I walked over him, huge fake grin on my face, and threw my arm around his shoulder, "Lanny, listen," I told him, conversationally, "Can I call ya Lanny? Of course I can, because we're practically family. See, me 'n Lorne, we're like this--" I crossed my fingers, "And i'll be damned if golly, his family isn't my family too."

I could tell he was about to hurl his guts out. "Anyhow, 'cous," I blabbered on, uncaring of the huge scowl on Landok's face, yet completely amused by the gigantic smirk on Lorne's, "I am going to be just so gosh darned tickled pink to meet all you crazy Deathwoks. And Oh! Me and the girls'll just have a blast, you know, gossiping about how absolutely hot Pylean ( ... )

I could not believe that Nia had the tenacity to speak to Landok in such a way. But do not get me wrong, I was not about to object to her behavior. Landok, after all, was notorious in Pylea for his attitude of superiority. It amused me to see Nia knock him down a peg or two.

After she had gone upstairs, I turned to Landok. "We have contacted Wesley, our leader, and he will be joining us," I told him. "He will arrive shortly after he is finished his business elsewhere. Then, I suppose we will prepare ourselves to leave."

After a long talk with Angel and making him agree that he won't not come back I finally walked with him down stairs. where everyone was meeting. I really didn't want him to go, I didn't want to lose him when I just got him, when he is probably the only man that would ever want me.

I didn't dare tell him there was something about this that I didn't like...well ok I did tell him that, but I didn't dare tell him how much of it I didn't like. Of course I could only keep my mouth shut for so long then I saw Lorne's cousin and even more than ever this didn't feel right. I finally walked over to him and gave him a piece of my mind.

"I don't trust you, I don't think what you have said is the outright truth, but I can't prove it and Angel seems to hold his trust in you so I won't stand in the way of this, but if Angel doesn't come back in one piece as well as everyone else, I will end you." I said firmly and angrily.

I was surprised to see Willow walk up and talk to Landok like that. I walked over, putting a hand on her arm.

"Willow, it's okay. I think he got your point." I told her.

Then I looked at Landok. "Don't take her lightly, though. I trust you, but she has the power to end your world. I wouldn't get her mad."

The orange haired cow bitch was as mouthy and talkative as the one they called Nia, and I narrowed my eyes at her. Unlike the rest, she had seen something in me that she did not trust, and I suddenly began to worry that she would persuade the others to follow suit. I could not allow this to happen, so I softened my demeanor in attempts to mollify them. That, and Angel's words of her power seemingly were not an empty threat.

I forced a quick smile. "I am sorry that you feel this way," I said to her, "I did not come here to harm you. I have only come to gather my cousin to perform a sacred duty."

I decided to veer the conversation in another direction. "It is best you all prepare to leave," I said, "For I am sure we will depart soon."

I glare at him. "Your words are just that to me, words." I said firmly. "Lorne seems to trust you and Angel trust you as well, but like I said they don't come back in one piece...or if anyone else I care for gets hurt, you will be the one I blame." I then turned and walked over to Lorne and Kathy.

"Take care of Angel for me ok...and each other." I said to the two. "I would hate to have to come in there and rescue you." I smiled letting them know I was giving them a hard time. I couldn't believe I was actually starting to feel better.

"I think you'd hate to have to go there for whatever reason, Crumpet," I told Willow with a smirk, the back of my hand up beside my mouth as I chuckled.

"Alright, compadres," I said, clasing my hands together, albeit anxiously, both eyebrows raised in an expression of complete and total apprehension. (Can you blame me for being so nervous? I mean, honestly. I'm going straight to Hell. Well, not literally, but it runs a close second.) "I guess we just need to wait for Wesley and we're good to go."

I sighed and slumped my shoulders. "Let's get this over and done with," I muttered, my voice low.

"What, is Wesley here yet?" I called from the top of the stairs. I'd been upstairs rummaging through my things, trying to find something suitable to wear. After all, I had to look my best when I met Lorne's family. Okay, not really, but a good pair of jeans would do me in a pinch anyway.

Looking probably more enthusiastic than I should have, I bounded down the stairs and met up with the rest of them, and no, Wesley had not arrived. I made a frown as I scrunched up my nose. "I guess not," I answered my own question.

Lorne was giving me an exasperated look, the one that normally accompanied a sigh and the feeling he was about to tell me that I really needed to tone down the enthusiasm a notch. Funny, coming from him, but I could understand him not exactly being enthusiastic about this. But hey, if I get in a good asskicking out of this, I'm one happy girl.
