Wearily rubbing my eyes, I left the room where Cordy was and headed downstairs. Who would have thought that behing behind the phones would ever constitute as a break from everything for me? Either way, I was glad that Cordy was alive and seemingly unscathed by the ordeal. Willow on the other hand, she was a whole other ball game. No, a whole other

I reached out and lightly touched her elbow. "Well, if it's any consolation, cinnamon-buns," I told her with a smile, "The fact that you're even here should really be all that matters. It matters to me, and I am sure it matters just as much to Angel. The Shanshu isn't something that is supposed to happen anytime in the near future, if it's even supposed to happen at all. So you have plenty of time to sit down and figure out a way around it all. Trust me, there's always a way around."
I also wanted her to know that what I had said held a lot of weight. She's here, and who gives a crap if she can do things other vampires can't. She should be so lucky that she gets the best of both worlds. I know Angel would kill to be able to go outside and tan. Hell, *I* would kill to go outside and tan.
Then I motioned my conversation towards her other question. "As for Wolfram and Hart, scrumptious," I went on to explain, "They believe that keeping Angel a vampire is beneficial to their ultimate goal. He's a player in their apocalypse - well, Angelus is. As long as Angelfood remains fanged and blood thirsty and not all beating heart and Average Joe, they believe there is still a chance they can get him to embrace his dark side."
I rubbed my clefted chin. "Hense, well, you," I noted. "Gotta hand it to those guys. A move well played, for sure. But I still wouldn't chalk it up to a definate checkmate."

"Thanks, Lorne," I told him in regards to his statement. His looking on the brightside was a big help, but it still didn't make me feel any less upset about being a gigantic prophetic roadblock. "But I just don't know what I am going to tell Liam. I don't know how he is going to take it. I only just got here, I don't need to cause any problems."
I suddenly felt overwhelmed with myself, and all of this information was just too much to absorb. I moved into Lorne, my head on his shoulder and my arms wrapped around his lean frame. He was truly a source of comfort for me, it helped to ease some the pain. "I just want this day to be over," I sighed.

"Hey, you're back! Where's Angel and Willow?" I asked them. But something seemed to be wrong. They didn't look happy. I was sure if it was us, they would say something. I wondered what had happened at Wolfram and Hart.
"What's wrong? Did something bad happen? I'm almost afraid to ask considering the state Willow was in when she left..."

I honestly didn't know what to tell her, although I am sure by now she could see the gaping hole in the back of my teeshirt, stained with blood, although my puncture wound now merely resembling a scratch.
I pulled out of Lorne's arms and turned to face her, forcing a smile and tucking a lock of hair behind my ear. "Liam found Willow and they left the firm before we could regroup," I told her. I grasped the bottom of my teeshirt and pulled it down, examining the hole which tore out the "R" in my Killer's shirt. "Had a, uh, bit of an altercation while we were there, but we got back okay. As for the other two, we know about as much as you do."

I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck, giving Nia a hopeful look. I wanted to direct the topic of conversation away from her and the nature of her injury, because I knew it was a topic that she didn't want spread around. She would tell Angel about it when she was ready.
"Well, I do hope Angel has found Willow safe and sound," I went on. "I'll keep my fingers, toes, and horns crossed that he gets to her before anything bad happens."

But Lorne's last statement was one I could attest to. I stood up from my seat and looked at everyone else. "I am afraid it is too late for that," I announced, with a quiet voice. I looked at Nia and Lorne, knowing they would not want to discuss the things in regards to Nia's earlier revelations. I was careful to avoid the topic. "When Nia and I spoke to the man known as Gavin, he had informed us that Willow had killed a woman by the name of Lilah. I fear it might not be the first or the last person she has killed thus far."

I had noticed the hole in Nia's shirt and the blood, but hadn't said anything until now. "And you look wounded, but being a vampire you'll heal up quickly. And you probably already knew that." Something bothered me about where the wound was, though.
"What happened? It almost looks like...but, that's impossible because you'd be a big pile of dust by now. They must have shot you or something..." I knew better, but I wasn't going to push it if she didn't want to tell me.
