Three: The Travails of the Lawyer

Work has been overwhelming lately. I haven't had much time to myself at all, and that time I have had has been spent tracking down leads in a futile effort to head this workload off at the pass. Even so it seems I'm slipping further and further backwards. Though I did attend the Attorney's Nation conference, and that was a welcome interruption to my usual routine. I attended a number of interesting panels on the evidential process and judicial protocol. The new ideas presented were fascinating, though as usual for this particular conference, some of the discussions were ridiculous and off-the-wall. Spirituality in the law? Involving the public in any part of the legal process? Please. These things are best handled by experts.

Anyway, I have some more work to do, and I must finish my reread of Das Kapital. It's one of those books I must read every so often, if only to amuse myself with how very misled it is.
