Oh hooray, another addictive networking site. However, this one is all about shiny happy vanity. OOH.
Shoutfit is a site where users can post pictures of their clothing, tag certain items, and organize garments into online closets. One can categorize one's outfits based on "trends" or styles, and use the site to meet other people who either dress in similar fashions or have inspiring wardrobes. There are functions like an outfit collage, a wish list, and advice forums that might prove useful as I further poke at the site.
When I signed up for an account the other day, I was skeptical. Reassuringly, the site seems to be more about sharing and assisting others to locate pieces or ideas than straight-up egotistical camwhoring. Members seem polite and encouraging thus far--not a lot of diva behavior. In fact, most of the photos are quick self-snaps, not professional pictures with unrealistic subjects.
I often feel like I'm being vapid if I post too many images of myself here on LJ, but Shoutfit seems like the proper arena. It's not so much about the person wearing the clothes as the whole package, and that's delightful. I collect clothing, and I think this site will be fun for sharing it.
Should you care to join or see my profile, I'm

I can supply email invites if you need one, though I've already sent a few out to stylish buddies.
For anyone who is already on Shoutfit, I started a much-needed
"Corporate Goth" trend today. It requires members, badly.
Thanks to
magdaleneveen for the prodding and promotion.
