Hisoka is sitting at the bar, sipping his third lime and soda with an extremely liberal dash of vodka, and beating the bar top lightly with his fingers in time to the (real or imaginary) music. He knows Ryuk is aloft, but he is not paying much attention.

Suddenly he is bopped right in the chest with a foam-rubber arrow, which bounces off him harmlessly. But he falls off the barstool in astonishment. Oof!

Perhaps before the arrow, or maybe after, Millicent sweeps up to the bar, not realizing that Hisoka is nearby. She's in the classic little black dress, though it's cut particularly low and hemmed high. She's hell on high heels.

Let us say Millicent arrives just before the arrow. Before she has time to notice him (assuming she was even going to, lol), he gets plunked.

He looks up from the floor and sees a vision of loveliness. "Morgaine of the Mansion!" he hails her. This was what he had called her at their first meeting.

She would have noticed him eventually, but his greeting makes it impossible to avoid in any case. Millicent glares at him. "You shouldn't even have Morgaine's name on your bloody tongue," she derides him.

"Oh, I don't know," he says, climbing to his feet. "Since I don't know your real name, I guess I'll just have to keep calling you by hers." He walks to the bar and leans on it, on his elbow, getting deliberately into Millicent's personal space. "Do you know, you really are beautiful. I didn't notice that when I met you, because you're the most obnoxious person I've ever met. And that's saying a lot." He smiles, and the smile slowly gains in wattage.

"Sod off, you fool," Millicent says and there's a bit of venom in her tone. She doesn't like how he's smiling at her or his calling her beautiful. She knows she's beautiful, she doesn't need this obnoxious twat telling her. "I can't believe you would call me obnoxious. Pot, cauldron."

Oh, ow! Venom!

But Hisoka's eyes are twinkling. "Well, perhaps we have something in common, then. Want to go come up to my room and have fantastic hate sex?"

"Would you like for me to hurt you?" Millicent shoots back.

"Not much," he replies. "But you probably can't."

[wycked_witch]

"Trust me, there would be absolutely no pleasure involved," Millicent bites out between clenched teeth. She doesn't argue her ability to manage it; if he wants to underestimate her, she'll let him.

"Oh, I can distinguish between a battle and a snog!" replies Hisoka. "And I'd be up for either."

Millicent's fingers clench and unclench atop the bar, her beautifully manicured nails reflecting the dim light as if warning lights. "This is your last warning to sod off." Her tone is barely controlled violence.

Hisoka watches the nails throwing off their gleams of danger and warning. His eyes light up, and he really does want to know what kind of power she has.

"Okay, let's see if I have this straight. If I don't walk off, you do...what? Whip out your magic wand and zap me?"

"Lucky for you I don't have a wand," Millicent informs him. "But that doesn't mean I'm powerless." She's picturing him set afire, and she's enjoying the image.

Hisoka eyes her appraisingly, not as a woman but as an opponent. "Nor am I."

"So what, stupid boy? You think we should take this outside so I can fry your scrawny arse and then come back and enjoy my drink?" Millicent snaps back at him. She really would have liked to have just sipped her drink in peace.
